I literally just lost a match because I missed 4 times in a ROW because my opponent was a starmie holding brightpowder that apparently hits like a truck. Also the times I get frozen/para/burned during a critical moment in battle as I get close to getting my gold badge is conveniently high for the AI

Wouldn’t have mattered. The opponents pokemon carries brightpowder which lowers your accuracy anyways even if its 100% unless you’re literally using can’t miss moves like arial ace or swift

Statistically speaking, every outcome is possible given enough time. That doesnt make statistical impossibilities any easier to cope with when they occur. Not to mention the fact older gen AI has extra knowledge of what you intend to do on top, skewing the odds in their favour anyway :( But hey, this morbidity is why i enjoy this kind of endgame content so much, trying to beat fate is so much fun

They have put 500 hours into the BT. Let's be very generous and assume each battle takes an average of 5 minutes, and we end up with 6,000 BT battles. It would be weird and problematic if you didn't get a 1/5,000 run of bad luck in one of those battles.

I have literally beat the battle tower with a every single monotype team and also with a team with only non-fully evolved pokemon. Yes, the RNG feels cheaty sometimes and therefore it takes multiple attempts to do these challenges. But the AI is predictable and exploitable and there are many things you can do to decrease the likelihood of bad RNG to ultimately win. Thats what I love about this facility!

Bro this just gave me P.T.S.D to the very core. I just lost against a horn drilling Nidoking. First it OHKO’d my Swampert with horn drill, then my Rhydon suffered the same fate. Two horn drills in a row then I send out sceptile who had the speed advantage with leech seed. Leech seed misses! Then I get hit with a third horn drill in a row to end my battle factory run. I hadn’t even made it to battle 7 on my first streak.

I don't understand why everyone is phrasing it like this when it's much easier to comprehend if you just say it's around 1 in 5000 (1 in 5153 if you want to be anal). But that's just the chance that it happens in EXACTLY this way. There are plenty of other ways that this could have played out where they still lost. The real lesson is not to put an 85% accuracy move on a Pokemon you want to be consistent. You want to limit the ways that RNG can screw you over, because over enough battles, every crazy outcome can and will happen.

So, I don't really know the chance rates of Pokemon moves, I just crunched the numbers that appeared on screen in the video, and I got just under 0.02% chance of this happening. That's a bit worse than 1 in 5,000, which are hardly impossible, or even improbable odds. Sure it may feel unfair, but though luck.

I played on emulator, i kept missing hypnosis, and reloading the game, tried every attack that turn for like 20 30 times all missed, attacks like cut, surf and so on. If i didnt try hypnosis, i went with calm mind and psychic on my genesect, but if i use calm mind to one ko the opponent, he gets a me 2 ko on ancient power, and if I try to 2 Ko on psychic he gets a critical hit on the the first shot. i tried probably 80 to 100 times. With 2 to 3 differenr saved files, tried every combination but lost at the end.

it's the same in firered, and leafgreen grindend the Trainer Tower out and the bs stuff you see is so infruiating, granted it's not streaks and you can use items but still, confused, almost never hits itself, my gengar with hypnose and dreameater, well you only got 1-2 turns max and the Pokémon wakes up, plus they conviently always have the right attacks at hand which never make sense, it's really upsetting, Ive never lost there but had some Battles with Chanseys and Lapras' I wanted to throw my phone across the room, Chansey especially, have fun never hitting that thing, I really have a seething rage against it since it always runs in the Safari zone too 😂 once a Chansey literally burned 2 of Pokémon in 2 consecutive attacks 💀

That one's your mistake lol. OHKO moves ignore acc/eva changes. It's always 30% when levels are tied. Only things that ignore accuracy checks like No Guard can change it.
