2014 Street Glide here with 29k on the clock. Stage 1 kit Screaming Eagle slip on's make her sound real great and she pulls real strong. Folks need to remember these bikes are touring bikes built for cruising the highways at 70 mph all day long. They are not crotch rockets or bar hoppers. I see tons of folks with 100k on these bikes with regular maintenance they are very reliable.

I'm a Harley tech, and Harleys are just like anything else...maintenance is key...the evo all the way up to the twin cams, Harley builds quality motors. They did revamp the touring bikes in 09 and they ride better than the previous models....

The flat black inner fairing is so its not reflecting the sun into your eyes. Even like Chrome mirror and stuff can be pretty blinding when the sun hits it the right way, The flat black hood on a Nascar is flat so you dont get the sun glare, Inner fairing in the flat plastic does the same thing wheater thats the intention or not. That Maroon looks really nice i just i'd add that as food 4 thought.

I have a 06 streetglide with a screaming eagle 103/6 speed. 41000miles and I love it. Runs like a top and one of the biggest benefits is my buddy's have a huge payments and I dont and my bike runs like a sewing machine

I had 09 just like this one here. Had 26 thousand on it. Set of Rinehearts exhaust , What a Great sound they where on it.... Sold it paid the house off. Miss it have to say. I ride a 09 Fat Boy now. Great bike in itself.

On twin cams at About 40k tops u must rebuild or replace the cam chain or retro fit with a gear drive (best option its the permanent fix) or u will lunch the engine...like catastrophic damage... Its a relitivly cheap repair but it is a must...if u dont u would b on borrowed time.

Seems like Harley requires major engine work at 40,000, and at 60,000, you had better had replaced the fork and swing arm bearings. Brake calibers might need pricey too. BTW.. a gloss finish on the inner fairing is most annoying reflection back into your eyes

Yeah, well, you should start with some prayers when firing up an H-D 96 ci twin-cam with nylon cam-chain tensioners. Check them for excess wear yearly if not going to a gear drive setup. If the cam chains frag the nylon slides to the metal, they will know you by first name at the local Harley shop for a big rebuild. Complimentary water and beer, free, of course.

the electric glide standard , in 2002 you couldn't get one as guy's were slaming the rear, doing thier own sounds, putting a LaPera or equal seat and that's where Harley got the idea for the Street glide , I tried to buy one in 02 , went to 5 dealers in norther cal, no one had one or if they did it was sold, so I bought a 02 R Glide and road it for 15 years until someone hit me and totaled the bike, then I bought the 17 street glide and I have to admit, I'm not a great fan of the low profile front tire.

It's a Twin Cam 103, a high maintenance bike, and that is fine, as long as you have the loads of money to spend.............. a pressed together crankshaft (not bolted together), and two roller chain drives for the cam operation, with two PLASTIC cam chain tensioners, that are a wear item, and must be periodically inspected and replaced for wear. Get ready to change out the stator, if it hadn't been changed out yet, with that many miles, as it's located right up against the hot, crankcase on the primary side, where it gets lots of engine heat, to burn out the coils. If you like lots of engine heat, on your legs while you ride, this is a great bike, whose engines, runs really hot, literally.

Thomas Michael I’ve got a 2012 Street Glide and there’s no more heat coming off the engine than any other Harley. I had a 07 Ultra and that thing had heat coming off the engine right on the inner thighs, Street Glide not that much

It's a twin cam 96 and after 2006 and they did not put plastic cam tensioners...so if u don't know about Harleys then keep your mouth shut

I have a 01 sportster 1200C Ive riden coast to coast as wwell as beat it doing wheelies with 46000 and still runs great. Other than 4 drive belts and one clutch its originale. We call it the gobstopper. Also a 96 wide glide with 55000 and a 13 Ultra classic with just 6000. But The sporty and the glide are mostly original and doing great. Even I'm surprised how tank like these bikes are. Much different than my 77 shovel. Im lucky to get through the weekend on it. I'm 40 so still stupid. Its amazing what these bikes take.
