PROPAGATION & REPOT - Chinese Ground Growing Orchids / Bletilla Striata

In this video we take a large clump of Bletilla Striata and propagate the many bulbs that have been growing for over 3 years in a pot. In this way we give this orchid a fresh new start and also a jump start to create even more bulbs/corms! My goal is to grow a massive field of these wonderful Chinese Ground Growing Orchids!

Awesome! So many new orchids! I need to dig up and divide mine this spring... assuming the arctic blast (-8°F) didn't kill them. Those pots are going to look so lovely!

They are currently growing well and should bloom within the next couple of weeks to a month. I’ll try to capture the blooms for you.

Hi Maria I have a question. Itis not regarding this orchid but the catasetum. My question. Why sre some of the butbs developing roots and some are developing another bulb ? Others are not developing bulbs or roots, it is frustating because I have over 200. Should I put them where they can recieve more light so they can root faster ? Love all your videos, I have learned so much from them. Have a nice day.

Situated? Try using the word positioned. Situate means to fix or build in a certain place or position. You fixed the situation in which the poor orchids were suffering by changing their position from one infested pot to other clean pots, repositioning the corms.

I would check online and see if any of the orchid nurseries in your area carry them or you can also check Amazon and Ebay as well and see if perhaps you can find a vendor that ships to your location.
