How's it going, everybody?!
Hope you doing well!
In this episode, I made a bigger Forge than my previous one. This time I used
20# Propane Tank as the body, to insulate it I mixed Plaster of Paris, Perlite and Water. This forge gets real hot! I believe I can reach a welding temp no problem! Please enjoy!

I like that you took the approach of an artistic look at the mistake. I would have said it was to offset the weight of the burner. 😀

Thank you, Michael! If I was gonna do it again I wouldn't put so much perlite and add sand to the mix too. Once it was in use it starts to crash out, not stable. I would go 50% Plaster of Paris 30% Sand and 20% Perlite/Vermiculite. Have fun! And let it cure for a week before using it as a forge!

Think I would still put a hard fire brick on the floor of the forge, don't believe that plaster and pearlite will hold up very well without it.

That was great. I would enjoy doing a build like that. Two comments: it looks cold in your shop. Maybe your next project should build a wood stove? And, your workbench wobbles like crazy, and so your vice is not be rock solid. Without a solid vice, blacksmithing and even filing becomes difficult. Perhaps some extra legs with diagonal braces?

I was thinking of putting a wood stove in my garage, just not sure if I'm allowed to do it in attached garage, have to find out the codes, it's not that simple unfortunately. This bench you see in the video is my mobile work station, it wobbles crazy because it's on the wheels lol. I will put another vise to my stationary bench eventually, just looking for a good ol leg vise! Cheers!

@@Take_And_Make I have an old house with uneven floors, and when I moved in all my furniture wobbled, so I hammered little wooden wedges under the high legs. That would be the easiest fix for the work station, since they are easily knocked out to move it. Thanks for the video--

It's not holding up nicely no, it is still there , just crumbles and cracks, thinking of replacing it with wool eventually. Or use sand in the mixture next time

It does, walls are not holding up too well unfortunately, after using it for two years (not daily of course) I gonna have to reinsulate it
