Propel Pivot GT Esk8 Setup Guide

Was super excited to finally receive the esk8 I ordered 7 weeks ago and it’s finally here - the Propel Pivot GT. Setup time!
I forgot to mention to be sure that the AT tires are facing the correct orientation.

I bought my pivot in 2023 and just started riding it July 2024! I love love love my Pivot!

@@uchechileslie7525 yeah, it’s quite fun. My first and only board so I have nothing to really compare it to other than a boosted board I test rode briefly way back in the day.

My belts were definitely too tight from factory, the motors screamed. Loosened belts, this has reduced the noise significantly. Not sure if a overtightened belt can harm an ESC under extreme load? 🤷‍♂️

@@gingerdude94 maybe not the esc but I’m sure it’ll make the motor prematurely get hot.

It won't hurt the esc or motor. They are built to handle abuse far worse. Really it'll just cause pre mature belt snapping and shorter range.

@@itzlethal1700 I wasn’t planning on releasing this until one of my next videos but since you asked, I’ll share it with you, share.icloud.com/photos/0beh_84zSRQAAJvurpIyGlGxg I felt like Tynee was too small of a company. I’m more comfortable with backing from a larger outfit that I feel has a higher likelihood of being around for several years. Also I trust the build quality of the Propel products. I’ve honestly never ridden any other Esk8 part from the original Boosted back in the day. I cannot speak for ridability. I’m too small and honest for companies to send me stuff to review. But I can speak in detail about ownership and practical use.

@@itzlethal1700 I’d love to but I’m having a hard time being gutsy enough to hold a camera while riding it. I need a bit more comfort first. I have a few ideas and one is about how I chose the Propel Pivot GT over any other board. Or Esk8 vs Onewheel ownership. I generally don’t do videos until I have had a good grasp on the product. I’m not the one to ride it for a couple weeks and then review something. I would rather have 100’s of miles to get a chance to experience enough where I have valuable content to share. Too many videos out there that just spit out specs and have fancy riding footage without any information that actually helps real life consumers.

Just got mine too. Unfortunately it has some sort of esc issue where one of the motors will either stop getting power or keep going when i let off the throttle.

@@boneheadnumber1409 Yes! I just had that problem today too! Sounds like more than a fluke if it’s you too. I already submitted a ticket via email. Maybe you can do the same. Well keep in touch. You can dm me through Instagram. Same name. For me, it’s the right motor and it cuts out. Usually I can restart the board and it’ll work but not always. I’ll wait and see what Propel says. Wondering if it’s really a controller issue or just a motor problem.

Yeah they gave me instructions on how to swap the motor wires to the controller but I hesitate because I don’t want the deck tape to lose stickiness and then it won’t hold secure.

​@kkammo They are sending me a new esc and remote. Unfortunately I'll have to wait till next weekend for it.

Mine arrives in 2 hours, I hope it's not a bad batch of esc's or something, you guys have a solution yet? Please update here if you do.
