I’m recovering g from a back injury. I’m in a pageant. I entered to give myself a goal to take better care of myself. However, I haven’t been able to practice in my heels and gown,etc. I’m feeling so much concern. This pageant has given me better self confidence as I was so depressed when I entered. I was giving up on myself and my healing. Is this something I should bro g up in interview when they ask me why I joined? This pageant really has helped me mentally, emotionally, and physically. I am healing.

Can you suggest some books for pageant aspirants or for preparing for Miss World interviews
@CrystalClues4 жыл бұрын
Hi! When I was competing, I searched for but could not find any recent pageant-specific books geared towards contestant preparation (a lot of authors are more researcher/historian types.) It made sense that it would be difficult to find because trends come and go so quickly that by the time a publisher could distribute a book, a lot of the information would be outdated...therefore what I did was read all I could about the history of the organization (in my case, Miss America.) For you, if you're interested in Miss World, I would read up on the history of how it came to be, who the sponsors are, who manages it (how it's structured and run, etc.) because that only helps your case as a contestant as you embark on the journey of becoming their representative. As for interview preparation, this is where you're really in the driver's seat. I read the news a lot but also prepared by talking to more informed people I knew in my life (politics enthusiasts for instance) who could explain to me current events issue. Reading newspapers didn't help as much as actually having discussions where I could ask questions and dig into a deeper understanding of "why" things were happening. THAT is really the key difference in preparing the right way. Any coach who just tells you what to say isn't necessarily helping that much because you may be put in a situation where an interview question is phrased in a particular manner that requires you to answer from your authentic heart.
