Proposed Siler Commercial Seaplane Marina, Torch Lake Township, Houghton County - 5/23/24

Recording of a virtual public hearing held on 5/23/24. William Siler, 23043 Chippewa Trail, Dollar Bay, MI 49922, has applied to EGLE for an after-the-fact (ATF) permit under authority of Part 301, Inland Lakes and Streams, of the Natural Resources and Environmental Protection Act, 1994 PA 451, as amended (NREPA). The applicant proposes after-the-fact construction of a 12-foot-wide boat ramp extending 30 feet below the Ordinary High-Water Mark of Torch Lake. The boat ramp shall consist of 10 concrete planks and up to 18 cubic yards of gravel/riprap. Additionally, five (5) 10-inch-diameter pilings driven into the lake bottom no more than 15 feet from shore to anchor a floating dock. The completed dock and ramp are for use as a marina for launching and mooring private and commercial sea planes.
