If you're new to my channel and videos, hi! I'm Evan Edinger, and I make weekly "comedy" videos every Sunday evening. As an American living in London I love noticing the funny differences between the cultures and one of my most popular video series is my British VS American one. I'm also known for making terrible puns so sorry in advance. Hope to see you around, and I'll see you next Sunday! :)

If you want to know HOW I make my videos including gear, lighting, all the tiddly bits that connect it all together, (with cheaper alternatives and kit I used to use), I've listed each item, what it's great at, and why I use it on the gear section of my website here:

Otherwise: here's a quick list of some of my kit without descriptions from the above link:

Being from Liverpool I know some of the longstanding local jokes (and the Liverpool sense of humour) . There's a suburb right out on the edge of the city called Speke. Originally it was a small village with the Elizabethan Speke Hall (now owned by The National Trust). It has a vast council estate, industrial estates and the city's airport. This chap was in the city centre and wanted to go to Speke but wasn't sure which bus to get. A bus arrived at the stop so he asked the driver: "Eh mate, is this bus going to Speke." The driver said: "I doubt it." The man was puzzled: "What do you mean?" The driver replied: "Well it's not said a word all day."
@seckie1001

As a fellow Scouser, I find our sense of humour can go straight over the head. Ive just been on a political thing where the tory blogger Henry Hill was being interviewed. One fella on the comments said 'Henry Hill is just corrupt', so I responded with 'Well he did say ever since he was a kid he always wanted to be a gangster'...... Whooosh! Straight over his head. He came back with some stuff about how he couldn't speak about his past but he's defo bent now.

The main reason Greggs don't have many shops in London is the overheads, an average shop for them up North will cost them £40k per year but a shop in London might cost them upwards of £250k per year. I live in Newcastle Upon Tyne and we have them on every street corner because people don't have much disposable income, that's why Pret a Manger and other chains tend to fail up North.

But none of theme seem particularly “bustling” or trying to get your business, like you might see in Manchester or London’s Chinatown. Some of theme seem closed half the time, even though they’re not. My opinion is that Liverpool’s Chinatown looks to be more for Chinese people who live in Liverpool rather than tourists as it seems quite “residential” to me. Like, there’s a lot of flats and houses there. There’s a GP surgery that’s bilingual English and Mandarin, a Chinese church and a large Chinese supermarket. Hope that makes sense!

@@BM-ip2fy Hey bud! No I'm from India. Planning to pursue my further studies in Liverpool later this year, hence the question. But if you're having trouble with the international student thing, just reach out to the admissions committee of your chosen universities via mail, and request them to get on a zoom call or something with you. Most universities are more than happy to have a representative do that. You can subsequently ask any questions you might have for them, and they will be happy to answer them for you. Just word of advice from experience, the process itself is not difficult, just rather long, and it's easy to panic and feel like exhausted. But most of it is straightforward and simple, and you should have no trouble with the entire thing as long as you have the correct documents ready (they will let you know what those required documents are). All the best :)

I'm from Liverpool and am dead proud and try as much as I can to promote it. It's a boss interesting place but you could run out of stuff to do after a weekend. My major problem is that whoever runs the city basically treats the city as a massive village and never got the huge potential that we have. Manchester always goes for it regarding big projects no matter if the public support it or not. They continuously try and be as big a city as it possibly can so it always gets the most funding and gets the best ambitious projects

We got such bad press for years (and still do) so it's great to see a foreigner talk about Liverpool like that and also one that has experienced London for so long. Sorry about the mud but you were basically in a muddy river estuary. The sediment is very fine which is also why the water is an uninviting muddy brown too.
