Thank you for your release. Keep it up. We are looking at buying a house in this town. The prices there are lower than in the Los Angeles area. We can't figure out why the price is lower and we are very interested. Tomorrow we are going to go for a walk around this town. We live in Orange County.🎉

Let me tell you Bakersfield is NOT an amazing city. Here are the facts. Worst air quality in the nation, it's ugly. It has no culture. Its downtown sucks. Boring! It has awful hot brutal summers - I mean all day and night. Not a place for enjoying outdoors since nowhere decent to go hiking or biking. The crime is bad, ranking #1 in auto theft. Highest murder rate in California. If you like a clean car, forget it because it will have a constant layer of dust. I have traveled around the U.S. and seen amazing places and Bakersfield is not one of them. The only people that move here are from other parts of California and the ONLY reason is to lower their housing costs.

I was born and raised in Bakersfield, sure it isn't what it used to be when I was growing up. I moved away for about 14 years, and yes there are more beautiful places to live and visit. I agree Yes, the crime here is bad, it has gotten worst since the homeless epidemic it doesn't help, thanks to the major big cities who ship the homeless here drop them off dirt flying in the dust of the review mirror, I won't get on that issue. You can look at some of the cities else where about the same size you have bad crime there too, it's everywhere. Like people before me had said it's mostly on the East side in Bakersfield and some in certain areas. The air quality isn't good because we live in a big valley and Bakersfield is at the bottom I like to say a horseshoe instead of the armpit so, when LA has a really bad air day because they are so big it creeps up over the mountains, and it also comes down from the bigger cities North of Bakersfield like Sacramento, Stockton and Fresno, Yes Fresno is slightly larger than Bakersfield. Who also has it's problems too. But you get any storms or rain that we had a lot of lately it's so beautiful and clean. Yes, It is sad that my hometown has gotten so run down and dirty, but there's always hope, I wish the community and city people would help more. I get tired of hearing the Negative Nancys that are always complaining they aren't solving any of the issues. Bakersfield has always been a family connected community but somewhere along the lines has forgotten that takes a village to move mountains, you know make things happen. Oh and by the way, there are lots of things to do in Bakersfield and Bakersfield Area Hiking, Fishing, Hunting season, Boating and swimming on the lakes in the area Isabella, Buena Vista, Success ( kings county), and Pyramid. There's mountains on three sides makes for nice drives on the back roads and picnic in the foothills a reprieve from the hot weather. The beach is also a couple hours away, which makes Bakersfield convenient too. In the Winter season you can go to Shirley Meadows, Bishop, Tehachapi, and or Frasier Park for snow related fun. I have had friends that have baseball teams from they're work for adults and school for kids. Soccer as well for all ages. There are many museums in Kern County area, and great foods Basque, Mexican just to name a couple. Just my little opinion, but I think your video is great a positive for Bakersfield, Thanks! :)

The extreme heat in Bakersfield is difficult to deal with at times, but it's not as bad as the extreme cold in Midwest cities. I'm prone to cold weather injuries such as frostbite, chillblain, and hypothermia. Frostbite is very painful, but not a big concern in Bakersfield, with even in the rare coldest winter days with daytime temperatures in the 30s.

so i live in bakersfield for about 30+ years i can tell you that personally in several area's like oildale, weedpatch and several other places have a higher crime rate due to drug, violence, and worse case abuse cases. as for job openness its a hit n miss. a majority of not getting a job will consist of the following. Since the 2024 Gavin Newsome idiotic choice of increasing min wage to 20 per hour in fast food we have seen a huge drop in unemployment, as of 4/6/2024 99cent stores in Bakersfield which is a retail job will e closing down 8 locations in Bakersfield and the end date of the official closing is still depending. As for other jobs like sales and education in Bakersfield since the FAFSA college bill passed there is a delay at the moment for college students. though i herd CSUB is a good place to look for a decent job if you have a decent background work history for education. as for other places outside a majority of jobs in Bakersfield during from 4/01/2024 - 8/01/2024 you wil have to wait as this seasonal jobs are already taken. the best time to search for jobs would be the seasonal quarters.

It seemed to me that people mind their own business more & are friendlier but the one thing that stood out was it just seems crowded with too many people when I’d comeback to Ventura Bakersfield has a lot more breathing room. Being I was there in the summer & during temps that reached 112 deg. it’s so weird not seeing many people out there was no one riding bikes or walking at all.
