The sideline seats are 53 yards away, not 100. (159-53)/2. You divide by 2 because it will be in the center. 53 yards is still insane. It's 3 fields wide.

NRL Grand final happens in Sydney at the same time of year at Accor Stadium so I assume they would have the same problem? I am Kiwi, and I would love to go to Melbourne for NFL. But maybe the game can be played in Perth where the seats can move to bring the fans closer to the action, but Perth is like another Country for NZ in terms of travel. I am not going to be cheeky and suggest they play the game at Eden Park in Auckland, don't think the Government would give the NFL money to lure them here.

With that loophole in the Sports Broadcasting Act, the NFL could move up the start of the season a week and have a Friday night kickoff game. The Black Friday game worked because it was at 3pm Eastern, and by that point, most high schools are in the state championship phase of football season.

You can't use the Accor Stadium in September either because they host the NRL Grand Final the day after the AFL Grand Final. It's literally two superbowls on the same weekend.

AFL Grand Final is either last Saturday in September or First Saturday in October. Though first Saturday in September in First Week of Finals (both Elimination and Qualifying Finals).

It would be fine to have a game in Australia. It would end up as a 9 PM ET start on Saturday night (late enough, but we can nap before the other games). Sightlines would be Terrible honestly. I hope they play it in a Soccer stadium.

You're forgetting the Sports Broadcasting Act which effectively prohibits Friday broadcasts. Now, with the CFP and the potential war stemming from that, you could get concessions for _Saturday_ games, but Friday Nights are owned by High Schools, so Fridays will still be off limits.

Cricket has been a very popular sport in Australia and Rugby fields are very different than a typical NFL field
