Interesting take on LL...I moved here from an even smaller town called Berrien Springs, MI back in 1989. Came here to grad school and ended up staying here. Agree with all your pros, especially since I'm on the faculty at LLU, so I'm biased. As for your Cons, I would have to disagree with you on the lack of things to do. While you mentioned "parks", you didn't mention that Hulda Crooks Park is the starting point for a huge network of trails (dirt road to single track) which attracts hikers, horseback riders, and especially MOUNTAIN BIKING. It features some of most diverse type of trails you'll find anywhere in SoCal. I've been riding in the Loma Linda hills since 1990, my daughter grew up in those hills, eventually raced for her high school mtn bike team (and won NICA SoCal Div 2 her senior year), and is well known throughout SoCal as one of the best places to mountain bike. Another cool thing to do is to play the fastest growing sport in the USA for the last 3 years: PICKLEBALL!!! While we do have a couple of parks in LL that have courts, LLU contains the LARGEST number of pickleball courts in the IE, and most of SoCal--26 courts! So if you're into pickleball, this is the place to play. The Drayson Center, part of LLU, is the wellness center that contains those courts, and attracts some of the top players in the area. LL is also the birth place of pickleball in the IE, and all the founders of pickleball clubs in the surrounding cities (Yucaipa, Redlands, Grand Terrace, Riverside) came from the Loma Linda Pickelball Club. Pickleball started in LL back in 2016, at Hulda Crooks Park, and just exploded from there. Now there are hundreds of people playing in growing clubs in all the cities around LL, thanks to LL! Because LL is the home of LLU, there are constantly world-class events happening on campus. LLU Church is the largest SDA church in the world, and hosts many concerts and programs that are usually free and open to the public. We have many conferences hosted on campus as well. For such a small town, we attract world-class events because of LLU. So there are more things to do than your video leads someone to believe. Sure, we used to have a drive-in theater but that's gone now, so if you want to see a movie, we usually go 4 miles to Redlands, and we have restaurants but because of our small footprint of commercial space, we don't have as many as Riverside or Redlands, but both are close by so it's not a problem to go next door to enjoy those things. Con #3 about "lack of jobs"...is a bit misleading as well. There are a LOT of jobs in Loma Linda, especially in the healthcare sector. Nurses, PTs, OTs, dentists, physicians, PAs, NPs, pharmacists, etc. are available. If you're a nurse, you will be in constant demand, not only at the LLU Med Center, but also at the Jerry Pettis VA Hospital, which you didn't mention is another major employer here in our small city. So there is not a "lack of jobs" because there are plenty of jobs here. My wife and I both teach at LLU (she's a nursing professor) and our daughter works in media for LLU church and makes movies. Of course, if you're an airplane mechanic, then there probably won't be a job here for you. If you're into mining, then yes, there aren't any jobs here for you. But to say there's a "lack of jobs" is a bit misleading, because there isn't a lack of jobs, just certain kinds of jobs and job categories like manufacturing, mainly because we're a small town. Of course, if you work in tech, computers, etc where you can work remote from home, then that's a moot point. As for your final con about the weather, that applies to pretty much all of the Inland Empire, not just LL. Having said that, and not counting our extra wet winter we had this year, coming from MI, while the summer months are brutally hot, it's a DRY heat, so compared to hot and HUMID, it is a different kind of heat. I just came from FL and MI the last 2 weeks, and that humidity is a killer!!! From September to June, I find the weather awesome, especially since I spend so much of my time outside either playing pickleball for hours or riding my mtn bike. Winter time, especially, isn't "cold", unless you count the 70's as cold. The fall, winter, and spring are just awesome here, and coming from MI, I do NOT miss shoveling snow and scraping the ice off my wind shield. (All our family and friends "hate" us posting gorgeous pixs with awesome weather during the winter time.) So while we have our brutally hot (but dry) 3 months in the summer, the rest of the country have their freezing cold winters where sometimes , they don't see the sun for weeks at a time and get quite depressed. And if I'm really missing the 4 seasons and the snow, the mountains are an easy driving distance from LL so I can go up to Big Bear and enjoy a full on winter wonderland, go skiing and sledding, and then come back down to LL and put my shorts and t-shirt back on. Just my 2-cents on your cons on LL. One con that I think you should mention is that housing costs have exploded because it is such a nice place to live. We bought our house in 1995 for around $160K....now it's worth almost $500K! I would not be able to afford my own house if I had to buy it today, because my salary has definitely not increased as fast as my house, so I wish I had purchased 2 or 3 homes back then, if I had known they would appreciate so much. So it's tough for a young couple to buy a modest home here that may cost 1/2 a million. Just crazy! So people are moving further and further East where the commute is longer but housing per square foot is cheaper. That would be my biggest Con about coming to live in LL. Homes are expensive these days!

I love living here, but you didn't cover housing and rental costs. It's expensive for such a small city. Touch on that please.

As a former Seventh Day Adventist and now retired Pedi / PICU / NICU RN, I have always desired to live to Loma Linda! The Bay Area is too busy and noisy for me. A much more slower pace is pleasing to me! Thank you so much for your video! I enjoyed reading several of the commenters views as well!🤗

Is it very bike friendly. You can do a 30-50 mile road bike Loma Linda to nearby cities like Redlands. Also if you prefer mountain biking, Hulda crooks is the best

Weird laws? Can you give an example?

Some things I’ve noticed, not necessarily laws but getting charged for buying soda bottles or cans, having to buy plastic bags at grocery, can only park on the side of the street which traffic flows
