Remember you said that. Because with the direction these phones on these cameras are going? It’s only a matter of time before actual cameras are practically obsolete. I STILL Can’t believe how good the Camera is on my Iphone 15 Pro Max.

obsolete? There’s no comparison with a lens on a camera to one on a phone. Yes phones are impressive, but you don’t get a fraction of the detail with their tiny lenses.

@@waynosfotoscameras This was almost certainly agreed to in advance. I’m not Matt, and I don’t know exactly how he manages expectations for experiments like this, but assuming this gig went ok and the client is happy, they would have known in advance that he would be using this tool and be on board for how the product might look. That might also have changed how much he charged. Frankly, I’m impressed by how our phones are even beginning to approach the level of quality needed for work like this.

I've used my 13 Pro Max for details in bright light. ceremony, reception (if there is a lot of window light) you can't tell the difference for that 2 second clip.

For recording as a friend or for free, its worth it! Otherwise, never use a smartphone overall to record client gigs with it because of low quality of the videos. Nothing you can do will make the videos look great even your editing skills can't do it.

Maybe my eyes are seeing something different. If these images were coming out of a proper camera, it would be slamed. That tele of the couple inside is 1000% horrible, everything is wrong with this, it is completely unusable. Even the close up of the flowers with the gimbal looks amateur. I would shoot this handheld at 120fps on a 35mm with lots of bokeh. I get people are using them, and clients are happy with the results, but as a professional tool, pretty awful from what I see.

It's an interesting challenge and there is no better phone video camera than the 15Pro for sure, but when would you ever *choose* to use the 15Pro over your A7SIII in practice? - the footage while impressive for a phone, still looks noticeably worse to my eyes anyway.

I’ve used it as a D or E cam during ceremony and also used as b roll cam during prep. I have a 50mm on my fx3. So I use it to get a wide shot from the 15pro.

@@SJYangProduction I see, that makes sense :) - would you say there are any specific shots you would prefer the iPhone over an FX3? - i.e. when would you choose it over sticking say a 16mm Viltrox f/1.8 on your Sony? Or just as a, the FX3 is already in use somewhere else, so we'll use this as extra footage?

We had weddings before we knew what "bokeh" is, and filmed them just fine with a handycam... why does everything needs to be fake high production and Instagrammable?

More people than you think prefer videos with no bokeh. This is the cruel reality…Is the vertical video content fault. And also more and more people hate horizontal video. I’m a videographer and I hate vertical videos but I have no choice and have to shot vertical video for my clients, for social media.

Do they hate bokeh, or do they just not want it pushed to the extreme? There should be a middle ground where we can just stop the aperture down a bit to have a sharper overall look and still get the benefits of a proper camera. And do people actually like vertical video, or is it just the best use of our phones for most social media platforms?

@@gmcubed Many friends of mine and family prefer the iPhone footages for example and not the “blurred” background from my Lumix GH5 MII. Is not a full frame, so the bokeh is not so pronounced, but more people prefer to see all in focus, background and foreground. Personally, if I have to choose between KZbin horizontal format and the rest in vertical, I always will chose KZbin horizontal format.

Heck no! Majority of my clients want horizontal videos so that they can watch them on their tvs, not on a smartphone. And there is a reason why everything is not in focus because it takes away from who you are focusing on. Not just that, you won't have a lot of light so you have to bump that iso up just to capture at F/8. You sound too much like a beginner videographer and i do think you are one right now

@@harryvuemedia It seems you have misunderstood me. I also prefer horizontal videos, I also prefer a good image with good bokeh. I have only said what the majority of my clients want. Here in Spain what is requested are short videos for social media, TikTok, Instagram and Facebook. And obviously for these platforms the format is vertical. Here in Spain KZbin is non-existent for companies, even for many people in general. Here what is consumed the most is TikTok.

I believe that your wedding video shot on the iPhone was not that good because you lacked mobile phone shooting skills. You have more experience on DSLR cameras. There are amazing short films out here on KZbin shot on IPhone 15, even shots with Bokeh. You need to upgrade your skill for iPhone shooting. You’re not there yet.
