Pros, being my own boss, my own hours, own decision on products and cons, I have to wear every hat in the business. I enjoy making new beauty products and learning more. Right now I am going through all your Etsy videos because I want to open an online shop. Right now I do wholesale and would like to do a little retailing.

It’s nice to see that someone else can also feel the same way in regards seeing how much you have grown as a business, so many sales you have gotten, all the things you have learnt, the feedback from customers just all of it is such a wonderful feeling. Idk if you remember me but last year I commented in few of your Etsy KZbin videos which inspired me to make an Etsy shop called Felti’s Creations and honestly I am so grateful to have stumble upon your videos cause it really has helped me out in so many ways.. I have 350 sales just by selling a little over a year and it makes me so happy seeing others enjoy my products. Also I do agree in the cons lately I feel like the notifications are stressing me out a bit so I’ll be definitely be muting notifications Soon. Also in addition to having to set up the hrs you would like to work with I also struggle with the con of time management which it’s something I would like to work with along with having some time to rest up.

Hi Tara, I love all of these points and I wrote them all down. I am finally in the process of getting ready to start my own business. When I say it has took years, I have had to deal with family and friends stop believing in my dream and want me to give up on it. I never gave up. It was and still is a lonely road. I have needed so much help its unbelievable. So one of the points I added to yours is to Never Ever forget what it took, what was lost , and how much I had to sacrifice to get to just this point. Who would give you a thumbs down? Printer ink is another fee especially if you print your own labels. You’ve helped me so much in my journey. I’m still struggling to turn a profit but I’m only a few months into it and Covid took a lot from me.

This was beyond helpful . I’m thinking of opening a business and have been planning for a few years . Takes a lot of research . Just so I kinda have a small idea . Do you make enough profit to support yourself , house/rent , gas, car, etc ? And did you make enough profit in the beginning that was sufficient enough to support yourself ? I ask because I wasn’t sure if a business like this is just considered extra income or if you can actually live off of this . Extra income is wonderful but I’m only considering starting a business if there is potential to be my main income . Is that definitely a possibility and is it like that for you ? Thank you !

Tara, exactly. That's probably why I rather be a hobbyist than doing it with the aim to be profiteering business lady. Too many things to juggle with when you're doing it alone. Then again, to those who can persevere, lots of patience is needed.

You can have a great product but if you don’t know how to market it and get it in front of the right eyes then of course you won’t make anything. People don’t invest in marketing anymore and they rely solely on the luck or chance that someone will find their products. You have to invest in a marketing strategy if you wanna make money🤷🏽‍♀️❤️
