🇨🇦 Bill Morgan Are you kidding me! This is the best 16 minutes of golf instruction "that will actually change your game without trying to change your swing" After 18 holes experimenting with the distances, I really could't believe the difference in my score, without trying to change my swing. Let's be clear here, you must have a reasonable command of the swing. In skins last week I beat my buddies like rented mules, really they didn't know what hit them, I was shocked, they land so nicely on the green & stop within 3 feet with far superior accuracy than trying to blast a wedge 120 yards. I'm so happy I could leave a spot on the carpet. 70 on friday, best golf of my life. Kudos to Monty, & of course Buddy what's his name.This is the easiest upgrade to your game you will ever learn. Sorry I went on a bit. Bill

One of my favorites so far. Been watching Montel for a while now. Excellent advice. I've been doing this for a year or so. There are so many benefits to this type of practice. I would suggest only taking 3 or 4 clubs to the range, forcing yourself to make different shots at the different yardages as you suggested. It's amazing how aware of the club face you become, and it's a confidence builder. I also do this with the flamingo drill, and usually tee it up. Folks would be shocked at how far and accurate they can hit it with this drill, with different club's. If you can hit a 6 iron 130, consistently, you can do anything with a club in my opinion. Great stuff guy's!

I like videos like this when a concept is discussed and then drill is explained. I especially love the emphasis on learning and developing skill.

Did this on the practice range this morning. Of the 130 balls in the bucket, I hit 100 balls to the 115 yd flag, 20 balls each with W, 9, 7, 5, and 5W. I got some strange looks hitting a 5W to 115, and it felt awesome to pull it off. Then I hit 20 drives to the back fence with lots of accuracy, which is much better than I normally do. And I ended the session hitting lob wedges to the 50 yd flag. Literally the best practice session I've ever had. I felt such good control of the club face. This is my new practice routing. Thank you, gents!

Thanks, gents! The left-arm parallel drill also helps folks that adduct the left arm too much on the backswing in an effort to create some sort of wider arc.

Thank thank thank you so much. I’m a complete newbie to golf. I’ve had 4 lessons thus far and my coach has only allowed me to use a wedge thus far. I really thought that I suck at this and that I’m probably a weakling because the farthest I get the ball to is 75 yards! Now I’m relieved. I’ll be more patient with my progress. Awesome videos AMG!

From about the 5 minute mark, or before, incredible advice. i proved all the negatives of the points at the range yesterday.

Agree completely - hitting it shorter makes it easier to hit it long. Recently I played a round hitting nothing more than 4i … until I pulled out driver on the last tee and hit it effortlessly 30 yards past my usual distance!

Great information on hitting the wedges. I have started to take less backswing and slowing down all my wedges to try and be more accurate.

I've seen me have a terrible season, not knowing which end of the club is which I'm hitting it so bad, then I'd get my handicap cut at the yearly 4 club medal using nothing but a putter, 9-iron, 6-iron and 3 wood. Instead of trying to lamp the ball full distance every time, I'd actually have to play soft swings and feel my way around the course. I can think of several times this happened.

Great video with good advice. When i'm at the range I'm normally to stingy to hit a lot of half swings, I want value for the money. After I bought my Mevo+ and set it up in the garage I've been hitting thousands of half swings, typically half of all balls when I'm working on technical details. My hcp has dropped from 14 to 8.

Hi Mike. We do that with our older junior golfers quite a bit and then play an entire hole with a 7-iron or 6-iron. The real challenge is hitting a driver on a 130 yard par 3. It's a lot of fun.

I want to see you swing a driver 120 mph Mike Granato, and I want Shaun to be your witness (ass a trackman monitor). That would be a great challenge, wouldnt it? I think the channel viewers would love it! :-D Love this channel, I learn soooo much!!

Does the “no turn cast drill” help with driver and fairway woods?
@jeffreyanderson51065 жыл бұрын
Yes! discuss loft and length old standard , standard and new standard . Montys # 7 iron... vs mine ... 7 new standard = 5 old standard Tall players may have + 1 1/5 " length as well

Hey guys. When we do Monte’s left arm parallel drill, is there a pressure shift, or set up left/stay left?

I’m good at the 2/3rds, but my full swing doesn’t look like it. Also my swing became shorter. Any ideas how to translate it to a full swing?
@AthleticMotionGolf5 жыл бұрын
It's a matter of adding a bit more rotation, but really we don't see many good wedge players making full swings with their wedges.
@Geep17785 жыл бұрын
I do this at the range 😁 and it’s def not easy to hit shorter or slow down at first but when you start sticking more greens it’s so worth it! But hitting a 60 degree 150? On my best strike max speed I’ll get 105 tops you beasts lol
@brianstumpf72965 жыл бұрын
Benefits if you did this with longer clubs (5&6 irons) as well?
@AthleticMotionGolf5 жыл бұрын
Certainly worth trying, but as the clubs get longer it becomes more difficult to do. But it is good practice for tempo and timing👍
@per_growth5 жыл бұрын
Is this a way to play? Or just a drill to get feel/timing in sync? If my PW is 130, should I aim to hit it always at 115 with a shorter swing?
@MonteScheinblumRebellionGolf5 жыл бұрын
That’s a case by case basis. Unless your club head speed with driver is over 110 mph, 130 is probably too big of a swing
@mitchy70515 жыл бұрын
Misinformation - Monte's current club head speed is 130 mph! lol - Good work GUYS . love your videos

I’ll give your channel a chance. Serious question: why is the KZbin golf reviews/vlogs primarily a UK thing? It seems like every KZbin golf person is s Brit.

DJP I agree it’s mad and I’m no5 sure why. My comment was a about the vlog and I simply outlined that I’ve done a similar vlog but it ends with a tip never seen on KZbin and it’s one that’ll help every golfer. What these guys do on this channel is the best on KZbin 👍🏼
