Hi Guys. It seems to me that the Pro is recentreing and transition down practically simultaneously in a distinctly rythmic fashion which to mind eliminates any stop start swing thought at the top. Your thoughts please

When a round gets out of control, swing back longer and be very conscious of not rushing the downswing….but also, focusing on hips, knees and feet lets it happen naturally, without rushing-which is a conscious movement

Do you guys have any insight on differences of the golf swing related to eye dominance? I'm left eye dominate and right handed. That seems to cause issues with ball position and quality of strike from the driver and sometimes long irons. It is like either one or the other works and the other is off, on any given day. Great with the putter and short game is solid for me. Biggest miss would be fat contact, hooks, or pulls

.18 .11 .08...got it on my 3rd try. More seriously, how do we work on reaching max hand speed at the sweet spot around club parallel in the downswing and then decelerating hand speed in that .08 interval to contact? It makes total sense to optimize the centripetal force of the club head, but I can't even envision the feels of that, or what kind of drills would help to create it.

As the saying goes “Free, free at last”. I’ve been working on my driver and focused on the saying “slow and low” that at times makes the swing difficult to start and feel wooden. Using your advice I’ve added more tempo to the start and adding a slight pause at the top makes the process much more fluid. Thanks for the lesson and looking forward to future instruction.

Trying to square the concept of the "arm float" with your other video on left arm abduction. When you demonstrate how to let the arms "finish" in the backswing, it looks like (emphasis here) that left arm is working across the chest. Is that movement just the left shoulder protracting? I hope that makes sense. I've tried limiting the amount my left arm works across my chest, but my arms have seem to gotten a little short in the process. Wondering if that arm trail off is the protraction piece of the movement. Thanks for excellent content as always.
@AthleticMotionGolf
@AthleticMotionGolf 3 күн бұрын
It could be, it could be that you don’t quit have enough adduction, or it could be a small combo of both. The arm needs to protract and adduct enough to get your watch opposite your trail shoulder 👍

OK, I'm swinging the club up to the top and when I get to the top I pause. Right handed swing. I'm really sensing all parts of my body and my ass feels like it has shifted left and I'm neutral with my weight distribution on my feet. It almost feels like I'm starting to sit or squat down. This is soooo true. I had always been a rusher, that leads to an arm intensive swing, often leaving body & its bigger muscles behind & unable to participate to maximise force. When I’m doing this well my swing appears slow & effortless. At top it creates a pause you wouldn’t notice in real time playback, that pause allows me a split second to really see the ball & get my lower body more involved in the follow through. When playing well the pause seems to last longer, world is in slo-mo. What a feeling ❤

Thanks for this video as it was a rubiks cube for me also. Back in my single youngers days and being a scratch golfer never had this problem but developed this after having kis and not being able to practice as much I developed this awful habit. I thought the issue was in the knees so I was concentrating on trying to fix that. I went to the range yesterday, after not hitting for a few weeks, and hit a lot of solid shots. My key thought on the downswing after watching this video was to rotate the hips and I hit a lot of good shots yesterday. Still hit a few with the bad habit swing, but this certainly gives me something to work on. Thanks, this is something I couldn't figure out on my own. Thanks for this! Good clarification of how to do it. My problem is that when I've tried the drill I tend to just move way off the ball to the trail side, rather than, apparently, rotating and staying more centered. I'd like to incorporate this into my practice, but don't want to engrain the wrong thing. Any thoughts? Thanks!

Moving off the ball is fine. About ~1.5" puts you right in the range of the best players in the world. But as with anything you're trying to change in your swing, you have to go slow enough to be able to actually do what you're trying to do. Just trying to do something doesn't cut it in a golf swing that last 1 second. Strip away the speed so you learn and do the thing. Adding speed back in is the easiest thing to do once you've improved the motion.

A good feedback tool for tempo is the "GolfFix" app. It will record your swing and then analyze the time of the backswing and downswing and tell you what ratio you are at and what to speed up or slow down.
