Let me tell you why that would never work out. Starfox has a pretty narrow scope when it comes to the story, to the point that every game beyond Star Fox 64 has had to add to the lore, while also accepting some things that are non-canon. So right off the bat, you're asking for them to 'change the lore', because theres little of it and lots of things that are not canon. Theres also other more basic things to consider, like how its primarily an on rails shooter type of game, and how poorly any ground action (besides some landmaster time) has been received in these games. Nevermind that every offering they've given us since the gamecube era has been poorly received, and had issues with the above. The same would go for F-zero, which would require a substantial reworking and changing of the type of game its normally associated with, and the lore surrounding it. Its just not going to happen. Kid Icarus? Maybe.

I mean, they're doing Detective Pikachu, and it looks... Not awful? If that gets good reviews, it'll be basically the first video game movie to do so, and it may prompt Nintendo to make more with other games. And if they did? Star Fox would be a great choice. It's a shame, though, because things like the Star Fox Zero Battle Begins animation, the Starlink cutscenes, and my own thoughts about what Assault's cutscenes would look like in HD... I honestly think, for people that were mature enough to take it seriously, it'd be a really well-done, action-packed, thrilling experience. There are so few people like that, though... There's also the whole "Zootopia Effect" where anything with anthro characters gets caught in this whole crossfire between people saying it shouldn't be made because it's 'turning kids into furries' and people who are just smart enough to do better things with their time than worry about that. But what do I know? I just wanna see Fox McCloud shouting in a commanding voice at his team to do some shit or to dodge this or concentrate all firepower on this or something on the big screen man. That's all I want. I just want fast-paced space battle awesomeness to please the 8-year-old in me. Like you said. Star Wars. But with furry animals. Why aren't we funding this? I can't believe Nintendo has been sleeping on franchises such as Starfox and Kid Icarus, I understand F-Zero, fans would love it, but they wouldn't really make enough profit to be worth it, but Kid Icarus Uprising was so majestic, and so well made, and on fucking 3DS, now imagine it on Switch, at least just get the WindWaker treatment but put it there, also Starfox, you get the shooter audience, you get the furry audience, you get the A Fox In Space audience (wich is a lot smaller than it should be) and you can do a lot of merchandise, people nowadays wear and fuck in fursuits, I think they can sell a Starfox shirt

I genuinely would love a new star fox game that has animated cutscenes with the zero style. Maybe replace using the chicken Walker transformation with just fox on land (but like, make the ship combat the primary gameplay and stick fox to items from smash like his blaster and reflector and stuff). Like legit they can make a good starfox game without rereading old ground, ya know?

I was wondering that too. I know Pigma is greedy and wants money, and Oikonny needs to fill in Andross's legacy. Leon on the other hand... I don't know he's underdeveloped aside being cold hearted and loyal to Wolf. My best bet are, 1) Wolf didn't have enough money and cut the budget with his team mates for the time being, 2) Leon, Pigma, and Oikonny decided to do some bounty hunting jobs and Wolf went rogue to form an alliance with some Atlas Outlaws and becoming a leader, 3) Andross gave Wolf a special mission (privately) if he was to fall by Fox and continue his plan by using a power source greater than what Andross had in the Lylat System. Or pretty much all of them.

@@stardogsmasher6217 one can only hope if any of those theories could be true. I'm still disappointed that they aren't featured in the game itself. It would have been awesome seeing some character development within all the Star Wolf characters rather than just seeing them as mercenaries for hire.

Bring back Miyu Lynx, Fay Spaniel, Krystal, Bill Grey, the original Star Wolf gang(and Panther Caroso) and the Hot Rodders(Kool, Katt Monroe and Mouser; Falco's old friends from his gang days)!! And maybe Amanda Toad and Lucy Hare(just spare us the Star Fox Command Story crap)
