I find this game to be very underrated. It's was, in a way, the Sonic game I wanted. Multiple characters, dark and in depth story, great level design, and kick ass music. If they fixed the game, it would've been a lot better than how it turned out to be. Maybe not spectacular, but definitely better.

I gotta agree on that. Multiple characters to play as which is awesome, the sonic adventure formula my favorite kind of gameplay for sonic, graphics look pretty good for back then (and the 06 models will remain my favorite sonic models), level design is okay but if game were completed would’ve been better, story in concept was good but subtract the sonic x elise, explain and fix a lot of the time travel parts, have characters actually act smart instead of stupid for the sake of plot, add more to the Sonic story, and explain plotholes. Then the story would’ve gotten an A+ from me. I loved the music (favorite sonic soundtrack), the realistic setting of the game, and I overall enjoy a lot of things in this game. Wished it was completed so that way I no longer have to whine about wasted potential.

You should see mega man forever. It isn’t worth playing at all. Yes it’s much worse than this. It has a long intro, Robot masters look dumb, special weapons have no energy, engine is glitchy, there’s no checkpoints, die even once, start the level over. Lose all lives? Start from the intro. It had a sequel that wasn’t THAT bad, I never felt like finishing it. There’s only the robot master stages, and wily castle stages are unfinished. Both are in the works, but they’ll be bad. Trust me.

This game in my opinion had a great story, gameplay, level design, music, character design, and graphics for the year and what they had to work with. I do have to admit, it does have some glitches but it's overall a great and fun experience for a game made in 2006 with half of a development team. The glitches also only trigger when you do something wrong so yeah, it's like a penalty. I am biased but I think it is totally ruined because of other KZbin's talking trash about it, go back and play it and you might even like it.
