Hmm, maybe she shouldn’t have suppressed evidence, like the fact that Pam Hupp was the sole beneficiary of the victim’s life insurance policy. Sure seems like she didn’t want to deal with some very inconvenient facts. This fact alone influences my opinion of her much more than the way she may or may not be portrayed in a mini series. If she wants people to see have a better impression of her, all she needs to to is stop making excuses for her mistakes and show some regret over what happened. It’s not that difficult, and it’s not admitting misconduct. Just apologize and admit you effed up and express some sorrow for what went down.

Gretchen: That whole justice system needs a serious spring cleaning with all of them starting with detectives straight up to the judge. Judge should of never been allowed to sit for that trial. How unprofessional there was clearly prejudice from detectives who were involved with prosecutor friends and or more (knew it was her first murder case) huge deal for her knew she wanted it badly, she was at the bar friendly (and friends) with jurors (inappropriate to be drinking with to ‘em) besties and for school mate with judge so all in her favor “Guilty” . Should’ve been a mistrial on that alone, who the hell is overseeing these people if anyone and if no one there needs to be a deep investigation into all these relationships. Judge wouldn’t let the defense even present evidence to defend his client. Prosecutor given full reign, defense got blocked and evidence not allowed every chance the judge had that decision. Food for thought, does this place only have 1 judge for cases or did she get to cherry pick friend special for her big slam dunk case (as a fail proof Win). I’m feel ill to know this happened and scared that it’s happening in more towns no one knows about. There has to be some type of secret investigation everywhere to find out about personal relationships on high profile and murder cases to be sure no tampering or favoritism going on with law enforcement, lawyers prosecutors/defense & judges. So many innocent people jailed, executed on false evidence or no evidence getting/threatening witnesses to lie!!! Appalling!!!!

Of course, Chaney would say her portrayal was "fundamentally false". Her reputation, or lack of, is at stake. The public might begin to forgive her incompetence if she'd, at least, admit that she made mistakes -- and apologize profusely and often. Apparently, she doesn't "get" that she ruined people's lives and caused at least one death. FACTS: she suppressed and ignored evidence, put an innocent man in prison, while allowing a murderess to control/frame the narrative of the prosecution in the Faria case. You can draw a direct line from Chaney's incompetence to the death of Louis Gumpenberger. If she hadn't completely mishandled the Betsy Faria case, Gumpenberger would still be alive.
