Protect Your Chickens The Better Way In Valheim

It's been a couple years since i've played, but unless it's been changed, you shouldn't have to worry about raids near there so long as you don't keep a bed, workbench or some other things in that area, but being underground is a sure bet. You shouldn't need holes leading down there as long as you have a portal. If you want a fire down there, you can build a chimney that doesn't lead outside, but rather channels the smoke upward and then diverges sideways and eventually dissipates inside the sideways tunnel. There are videos showing how far you can channel smoke before it dissipates. I think you'd need some special design of chicken pen to keep the eggs at the center, and at the right depth to utilize the heat from the perpetual fire of the Elder platform, and then to channel the chicks out of the area so they don't interfere with the parents breeding, but i think it could probably be done.

if your ceiling is high enough you dont need a chimney. i neve use one in any of my underground elder bases.

In caves (in vanilla valheim) you can build 3 things - signs. Log benches and camp fires
