Then it took almost another 40 years for that to merge into veganism. I've been vegan since 2011. I was only doing it ethical at first. Then I realized 6 years later that the overwhelming evidence supported eating whole plant foods as being the healthiest. This is what prompted me into being an advocate because it was then that I realized there was no reason for anyone to be eating animals. Well, maybe twice what you "need". I wouldn't think you would get twice what they get. When I compare amino acids using cronometer the problem seems more that they get too much, like 3 times as much, the nutrient distribution is grossly heavy on the protein side and that may be part of the reason for it's relationship with chronic diseases.

Sure, it's easy to get confused, esp. if you're new to this. Let's say for a moment that it doesn't matter, you can eat plant based whole foods or you can eat animals. If it doesn't matter then keep it simple, just eat plants and no animals have to suffer because of your choice. But, if you dig deep you'll find that there's more doctors, science, and now more institutions, etc... supporting plant based as the best. And the deeper you dig you'll find that for 3 generations now this has been extremely consistent. It's just that the first few decades at least there was a lot of fear of animal agriculture gag laws, big money can be scary. Now things are more transparent beyond their control and the truth is getting out. But, at the same time you have all these quacks and what not twisting the same talking points that plant based gurus have been making for over half a century. Keep it simple, eat for the love of all.

@VeganLinked Жыл бұрын
I would recommend zero. I can't speak for the doctor but I bet he would say the same. I mean, you have healthier whole plant food options within the diversity of legumes, greens, grains, fruits, veggies, mushrooms, nuts, seeds, herbs & spices and a well planned variety of each is appropriate for every stage of life according to the Academy of Nutrition & Dietetics and the American Heart Association and the American College of Cardiology and even the cardiologist I uploaded today says that a plant based diet is protective against heart disease. It isn't a panacea, nothing is, but it has been demonstrated far more than anything else to be protective where eating animals on the other hand have constantly come up questionable and often and rigorously enough to be deemed a risk factor. "They found that eating more meat, especially red meat and processed meat, was linked to a higher risk of atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease - a 22% higher risk for about every 1.1 serving per day"

Great vid! I agree. too much hype about animal protein. I lift weights, and I have found that insulin is the second most anabolic hormone (testosterone is the first and I am a man) and that is released by eating carbohydrates, not protein. That being said, I work out in the gym, sometimes hard, and I don't get a pump unless i eat carbohydrates AND a little more protein. If I don't increase the protein (a little), I don't get a pump, which I take to mean that the 'worked out' muscles does not uptake the carbohydrates - through the insulin receptors - as well as it could if you up the protein " a little more". The whole point of bodybuilding is to shunt the carbohydrates into the muscles to make them bigger by having them stock more glycogen inside the muscle. My two cents. Interesting that the bodybuilders (the guys from the 90's and the 2000's) - who have taken a lot of steroids are now dying younger and also have a quicker of onset of 'old' symptoms. 2020 - 2021 has been a bad "death" year for older bodybuilders
@VeganLinked2 жыл бұрын
Cool, thanks for watching and commenting! To me body building seems like a waste of time, energy and resources. We've known for a long time they die relatively young. So what's the point except to be like "look at me"? And then if you're all majorly muscular you have to keep that up otherwise it sags into yuck. The only point i can see is to be a vegan bodybuilder and work out with a meaningful purpose to shatter the myths. Beyond that it seems pointless. Exercise is important but moderate, daily seems best.

The first minute: the response to people who give out hard times about the alleged protein deficiency we must have. What type of patients do we typically visit in hospitals????...not folks dying of plant based issues! Finally, I have a simple and well put together response for the relatives at gatherings, it is almost like a Seinfeld type of response-love it!🙌

Yes, but it's a logical fallacy

Also what you don't see in hospitals is meat only eating people..

I needed to see this in my journey to recover from, well, dying. If I had not changed my diet, that's all I changed at first, I would not have been here. I was on high protein shakes (medical!!) and my body was eating itself, it was horrible and I was in so much pain, in my body as well as mentally. The 'we are omnivores' thing is what kept me struggling to find healthy food. Now I'm off processed foods, sugar, anything animals and if I stick to that, I can dance and be normal. If, on the other hand, I visit someone who doesn't have 'food' and on top of that, I eat candy... Pain, no more walking. I can start to detoxify all over again. Protein isn't an innocent thing, if not gotten directly from a plant. It kills!!

Milton Mills is such a smart and amazing guy, love listening to him...and Dr Greger was the one who actually made me vegan almost 20 years ago!

You should check out my Greger videos, I have three that are awesome. One is a Q&A, the other is a discussion panel with Greger, Ornish, Campbell, and Stoll, and it's hard to say this because I love them all, my favorite is when he received the Hall of Fame award! :)

I’m one of his new subscribers and Nathaniel Jordan-minister of (I’m going to have to look it up so this will be edited).Minister of Wellness; You Tube video called Genocide by Junk Food! Both of these men are outstanding and I appreciate them. I’ve got to mention Milton Mills on his site.

Awesome eventually you'll be like those annoying nonsmokers who can't even stand to be around it! But it will be because you feel great and realize how horrible it is ❤
