So I was planning a 5-day holiday in Montreal for August 2024 with a budget of $2000+ CDN. Because of safety concerns, the trip is now cancelled. Imagine 100 people doing the same =$200,000 to retailers, resto's, Hotels, etc. Now imagine 1000 people cancelling = $2,000,000. And 10,000 people = $20,000,000 CDN When the business community complains to their council representatives, which also is connected to votes, the Mayor will certainly take action.
