This is actually super interesting, good job Wout! Budget wisefab! We’ve been extending e36 arms to fit e46 with custom chopped knuckles for years, this is great for the community

Thanks! Am excited for it. Really happy that the Beam Team likes it, I love it on my E36. Its cool that people can make a totally bespoke setup for their own bodykit & wheel setup

You 've just had a new subscriber. I discover you on Aaron channel " the lone star drift".I really liked all the interviews thanks to your knowledge, your approach and your personality. I am also in Europe, in France and I finally decided to jump to learn how to drift after 15 years of grip trackday with my light tuned ae86 striped out 2 seats ( 150 HP and 880kg ) that a lot of people dream about. It might not be the easiest car to learn but I have it. I might switch for a gt86 ( for family, daily purposes, and confort). I am.old 45 years old. I need some confort because I drive my car to tracks and it is very Loud inside and I can not take my kids and wife in my 2 seats stiff car. Tough choice Anyway, Keep posting vids to grow. Your content is gold and it should pay off in a long term( I make some french content about cars and I manage to grow without your knowledge etc so you have plenty room.to grow and even explode).the key is posting consistentl and do some featuring with other..your network is gold. Sorry for the long post🙏🏿

Won't the outer tie rod ball joint block the following wheel on full lock? I have a DIY angle kit from the Netherlands (I'm from Belgium though), it adds 5cm to the arms & has cut knuckles instead of blocks. On my kit I notice that on full lock the ball joint hits the arm & that's with stock E36 arm width. From what I'm seeing in the video you add at least 1cm of width to the arm (by welding the steel over the arm), bringing the arm closer to tie rod pickup point/ball joint. Are the angle blocks height offsetting that risk of hitting by adding more of a slope to the tie rod? I clicked on the video because I was wondering how a brand like WF would go about these kind of kits. Are you planning on maybe comparing this kit to an alternative kit? Like let's say CNC71 or maybe just your regular fab guy: extending arms & cutting knuckles. Would love a comparison video! ~A fan from Belgium

Hi! No it doesn't hit. This is why there is a big advantage in running a hub adapter kit vs cut knuckle. Also roll center correction all in one. There are a few good cut knuckle methods , but the limits of the geometry become very clear once you compare them to this kit. This runs the same geometry as we have on FD cars. The kit that came off Tylers car is the brand you mentioned. We don't typically like adding scrub to the knuckle (like other kits) in order to increase lock, this totally limits the use of the kit. Its a shortcut to add width without properly modifying the arm, a shortcut that will cause bad geometry and bad packaging (wheel hitting the chassis & inner fender without making good angle) Therefore we like getting the self steer & scrub correct on the hub add on , and get the width from the arms. Also, the Ackermann curve on Wisefab is very different from other kits. Check out the video's of my Drift Week M3 which runs the same lock spacer on the hub as the DIY kit

@@DriftJesus Thanks for the clear answers Wout! As a fan from a neighbouring country I've been following along! I have seen the M3 perform rather well. I'd love to attend driftweek one day, just the vibes & seat time with all these awesome drivers. I love taking in all the information that's out there, especially if it's E chassis related since i drive one aswell! Thanks again!

So does this kit end up minimizing scrub radius somehow when used in the narrower way, or is that just part of the compromise when wanting deeper offsets on stock body?
@DriftJesus
@DriftJesus 2 жыл бұрын
It works really well with deeper offsets, doesn't interfere with the operation of the kit. Its very common for incorrectly designed lock kits to only work with positive scrub radius, but Wisefab geometry works with both low offset and high offset. My Drift Week car is ET47, my pro cars are ET20 & ET25, all works very well. The DIY kit has the exact same geometry as the pro kits.

would you recommend mig welding this kit over tig welding it?
@DriftJesus
@DriftJesus 2 жыл бұрын
You can do both, Mig will be a bit faster. I tig'd the uniball cups on one at my shop because its cleaner on splatter

We have been working with engineer Pritt who did an amazing job . Its been my dream for a long time to have Wisefab arms to accomodate wider / low offset wheels without running a widebody car, and this is a perfect product for people to enter the WF world. Grassroots heroes like the Beam Team have been testing this kit and love it. Drop us an email to order worldwide ; info @ einzel . nl
