When hard times come and it seems God is deviating from the plan we assume our life should follow, we’re much more likely to want to tame God, not trust Him. It’s then that we begin to press into our own ways and our own timing. No human can carry the weight of being their own god, but so many of us try.
Through this study of 1 and 2 Kings, you’ll learn to:
Loosen the grip of trying to control people and circumstances in your life by taking steps today to truly rely on God.
Identify your own trust issues with God and how to overcome them by unpacking pivotal, relevant life lessons from the kings of the Old Testament.
Find relief from fear or doubt about how things will turn out with 10 scriptural truths you can declare over your situation right now.
When you sign up for the Trustworthy Online Bible Study, you'll also get a free beautifully designed New Year's Prayer that will help you trust God more in 2020.
The 6-week study begins January 20.

I am 2 months behind but I will finish this bible study. I really need to get better about spending time in the word early in the mornings!

After doing many online studies, I realized I get so stressed if I get behind, to the point I don’t finish. In this time in my life, I don’t have the pressures other women do, so with this study I am taking my time and really getting into the workbook and the videos. I choose to buy the videos so I could listen to them on my time. I do try to listen to Monday’s session on Monday morning but the weekend video maybe Saturday or Sunday. My point is, do what is good for you, I am 64 and I want to know God’s Word, I have fallen in love with the Old Testament, the richness of the history, the way it constantly points to Christ. I want to absorb what this study is teaching me, so I can pass it on to my kids and grandchildren.

I chuckled to myself while listening to the first minute of the video. I had fallen behind with the study and felt a lot of pressure to either stop and try again at another time or try to catch up. I really appreciate the encouragement (and challenge) to keep going.

That's an excellent slogan. Yesterday, I was telling my brother all about the Power Of Truth and Yeshua (Jesus). He was a criminal in the past, but he has changed his mind and turned around; a field white for harvest. He agreed to be baptized, I suggested Friday. Point is, in terms of accepting Truth and letting Truth benefit us, he had this to say: "Life's too easy." Shalom (Peace-Of-god). It's as if to say if we all just rested in accepting Truth we would all know that life is just easy. Obviously that is a spiritual and mental ease he is referring to, and a social ease when Truth is shared between fellows. It is a powerful example of preaching and so I share to offer a case study to others: Because he has been discovering and benefitting from Truth in his life, he is learning Truth. So when I told him extremely powerful Truth and gave Christ the credit he recognized that I was correct. I told him that instead of keeping peace by ignoring a conflict and refusing to take part, it's more powerful to choose kind gentle words in those moments; and I said "Think how you have used power your whole life, but I'm offering you the power to heal. Think of how powerful THAT power is!" It was not an appeal to power-hunger, but rather it's insisting true values. Really, he knows that topic of negative-power vs positive-power better than I do, so he REALLY knows I am correct; and that's one of the reasons why I chose those words. I had begun by opening up about my past experience and how much Truth has benefitted me, with brief mentions that I know Truth is Christ, but with no expectation that he should convert to my religion, but just having honest talk. However, afterward I was moved to lay hand on him and tell him "I want you to believe in Yeshua, the one they call Jesus" "Okay" "I want to baptize you" "Okay" "And that is all you have to do, be baptized and believe, and Christ will do everything else" "Okay" "You will do more, but you won't HAVE to do more, Christ will take care of all that for you" "Okay. I'll do it. Yes." See that I put no stone of stumbling in his way, and I insisted Christ will do it, so that I am asking him to trust Christ and not telling him religion will save him. Because he is the husband and so is as Christ to his bride and his bride as Church to him, I am going to tell him that he must lay down his life and love her first to offer her healing power. Christ laid down His life to heal. The love of God is that he loved us first so we love Him. Therefor it is right that the husband love the wife first and so she will love him in return. So, when women are upset blaming their husbands for shortcomings in this area, they have valid cause; and when men blame their wives for shortcomings in this area they have not valid cause because he is to love her first as Christ loved the Church first. Also, I keep Torah because Christ told us to do so. We who study Scripture much and follow fully, we have no excuse for not obeying Christ on the matter of Torah; if we trust we hear His voice and no religion will lead us astray. God judges righteous judgement, and those who are led and taught against God's Torah have poor-leadership as their fully-valid excuse. We who teach are not allowed to follow any leadership but Christ Himself. So if we want to learn Truth we must agree with God, and so keep Torah, and if we do not do so we are drastically reducing our spiritual awareness and our ability to pass on the Power Of God unto Salvation. To keep Torah, but to only insist Christ and Him Crucified, it's a very powerful combination; sets us apart from those who follow with lips but their heart is far from Him, and also sets us apart from those who preach their religion rather than The Cross Of God's Love. I don't seek to convert anyone to religion, that is God's work; but I seek to prove that Christ is worthy of all-trust so others may believe the Truth. When Christians are similar to the world, they have nothing to offer the world, and because Christ has not changed them they do not prove the Power Of The Cross. Those who try to work Torah have it ALL wrong. Rather, Christ writes Torah on our hearts and Torah works us; we rest in Him. Worthy is The Lamb Of God who takes away the missing'the'marks of the world. It is finished.

Does the mundane everyday stuff count? It’s hard to understand, but God sees it all. Thank you God, that you use everything for your glory.

Hi Marilyn. I have asked God that very question. As a stay at home mom, where do I fit into living out God's will and He revealed to me that in this season of life, I am taking care of my family (which is a really big deal) and then I have declared myself to be a Way-Mart warrior. I have learned to slow down while running errands and take the time to talk to someone who might need to be encouraged or who might need help. I often imagine the stay at home mom's dressed in our spiritual armor and lined up with mops in one hand and our swords in the other:) Hope you have a great week!
