I wrote an email to the Italian embassy here and they asked me to provide letter from my school to prove my employment status hence my bank balance. Secondly, I don't want them to know that am working since it's a table top payment and does not pass through the bank. So I would like to find out how I can prove my sources of income although the stipend from my school is less than $100 but I have enough to support my vacation. Also, am looking at staying for just 7 days. Please advice, thank you.

Decide when you want to travel, purchase a ticket, ensure you have the address and details of where you are going to stay, have sufficient money to cover your stay (keep some cash incase they request for proof at the port of entry, board the plane and go.

@@skonthis4216 Then you did not watch it with understanding. It is only possible to prove what you have. If you do not have strong ties, then you cannot show same. A student’s tie would generally be limited to family/social and academic ties.

The embassy will determine what is enough. Yours is to present your best case. A good paying job can be sufficient proof of ties.

My girlfriend is visiting me in Schengen in December, for christmas and new year's eve. @@AnthonyGruba I think the reasons for denial are clear which has to do with the authenticity of the documents she submitted. The first step to fixing it is reviewing same truthfully and determining what she did wrong.

It's always difficult coming from Asia and you plan to visit on first world countries. They said saying you will be visiting a boyfriend is a red flag and there is a tendency for someone to overstay, which is possible. There are a few who got approved. Did she provide supporting documents proving her strong ties aside from the bank statement? it's always a stronger reason to visit the country with the intention to marry or your are married or have kids - those were the choices of my friend when she got refused. I am planning to apply for the Schengen Visa too but doing my best to get travel history, trying to get a property, etc just to prove I'm coming back. If we get marry, that would be easier. Though we have plans but I don't know when.

50/50 You have to show that your private business generates a sustainable income to pay for your trip and also cater to your family, otherwise you would be considered a flight risk.
