SHOUT OUT TO DAVE, you know ive seen a lot of FO fans talking about the NCR and a possible war/encounter and it's the popular belief that the NCR would automatically win but its funny that people ignore the key fact that the minutemen are just the beginning stage of a commonwealth nation state in its infancy and it's fascinating to see evilviking's builds cuz it's providing evidence of what i suspected the minutemen were capable of, and so with this I think given another few yrs maybe even a decade the commonwealth like the one we see here would be perfectly apable of equaling and matching the NCR especially considering the opposite coast it would be decades realistically before they would effect eachother DAVE... maybe your ambitions should steer towards capital wasteland and mainly the water purifier after all we all know clean water is part of your propaganda ;)

SteelFyire But they have two clear advantages: industrial power and a better secret service. For the industry in Boston there are many factories still active and ready to supply an army, or even better PRODUCE an army of OP robots with the Automaton DLC. For the secret service Synths are just the best spies you could ever train, and unless you did the Brotherhood ending you can produce them thanks to the Institute tech and scientists.

Just some ideas from my non flatten build on the island. I would build generators near the boat. The run pylons from the mirelurck station else where making it the central hub area of power. Make sure you have water supplies and food on both sides in my build it only counted water on a half of the island. I built a market near the dock and using another mod at a dock on the Boston cost built another settlement that ferries people to and from the island. On my island there is "Totally no propaganda and no evil regime". It's a theocracy merged with socialism control and elections. Atom save Spectacle island. Any way just a bit of ideas and tips.

If you've never seen the show "Revolution" you should watch it. It's on Netflix and it's really good but in the show there's a government called the Monroe Republic which is led by a guy named Monroe and it's basically the exact same thing as your Minutemen and now Provisional Government. If you're ever trying to think of ideas you might be able to use the show.

The nice thing about the synthetic birds is that they're canon lore. You can find the observational terminal in the Institute that sees what the crows see, and even visit those exact spots in the real game. Some of them sit on rooftops, others are on wires. Hell, Ronnie Shaw of the Minutemen is quite familiar with them, though you have to pick the correct dialog option in conversation with her for them to be mentioned.

qq: do you have any dedicated granaries? Because that would be an interesting settlement. Silos on posts to prevent the rats from getting at them, drying racks, smoking chambers, trade hub, a convoy being prepared. That could be a goodlooking tiered structure.

( also, as a future idea, what about a trench system at mirkwater construction site, where your minutemen are fighting the gunners from Gunners plaza and quincy. Could you use the creation kit to make these? I think that this would make it seem like some of your minutemen are actually fighting after they've been trained.

I've seen this like 40 times now. It sounds cool, but then again it doesn't. Murkwater is tiny, how much trench can be built there? And it's mostly water, the trenches would flood and the soldiers would get foot rot. And how many Gunners are left in Quincy and GNN these days? I figured General Dave would've cleared them by now.

We know that Dave hasn't cleared the commonwealth yet, as is shown by most of his settlements having walls around them. Granted, he's destroyed the institute, but I think the gunners would be harder to take down. They've got more men and better weaponry, and so could give the minutemen a run for their money. And I bet that Dave could mod the boundaries of mirkwater or even find a mod that does that . and that's why you build duckboards above the water level in the trenches. It would give off a very WW1 feel and I think the minutemen would just have to deal with it tbh.

The Gunners have less men and weaponry than either the Brotherhood or Institute. You know who has men and weaponry? Joel. He's been scheming behind General Dave's back for far too long and I think the General should take back Pleasure Island and turn it into a naval shipyard. He could keep some of the buildings and repurpose them. Maybe throw Joel in the Pit. Maybe use the amphitheater or giant light as part of a boat, showing that they're building ships with what they have. You could say the boats and floating platforms in the water beyond the boundary are scrapping platforms used by the settlers, gathering materials for boats or towing whole boats to the island.

I have been watching these builds for a long time. Now I finally have fallout I created a lore of serving under General Dave's command with a focus on supplying the troops under his command. Ah, the birds are really synths in the game. While it isn't part of a quest or anything, you can find the observation terminal inside the Institute and travel to each observed area to see exactly where the birds are sitting. Ronnie Shaw of the Minutemen also references them in certain dialog. It's how the Institute keeps eyes on the surface, along with tip offs from all the caravans.

Its the weather that would kill all the trees and keep them dead. Chernobyl didn't cause a world-wide nuclear winter, which could kill most vegetation in heavily effected areas for a few hundred years at least. There would be little to no photosynthesis while the radiation would poison every tree. Much of the small vegetation though would keep on truckin though.
