Watch a full tutorial as a 2004 GMC Sierra / Chevy Silverado will have a brand new Pioneer MVH-210EX Double Din Touch Screen Radio installed. This install applies to both the Bose and non-Bose vehicles. We will also be retaining the factory steering wheel controls as well!

Great video the red wire did get me though , had to install a toggle switch to it as well as the ground have to flip it off and back on which allows DVD 📀 play as you drive

The interface box glitched my EMC twice. 1st cost me $200 plus tow and second time i figured it out. Remove interface box, wired off/on straight to radio!

I would guess 3 feet is plenty for this use. The 6' cord is likely for running it to the back seat

I wish you had gone through wire 4-wire what you already have matched up in the video so that people that have never done this can see exactly what you're doing if it's color for color . and I bought a double DIN Joy radio with front and rear camera which came with the which also had its own mounting kit and antenna adapter.

I wired my 04 Silverado exactly like this video using a Boss stereo.the stereo works fine but after a few minutes the back of the stereo gets so hot you can barely touch it what would cause this

Ok the hook up seems easy. But I noticed u didn't have to program your Bluetooth deck. I also have a Chevy Tahoe but I have a wire harness similar to the one u put in. Mines I bought the guy told me I hav to program the Bluetooth deck n I have a black box the has a light on it that's supposed to turn green when everything is hooked up probably.

I love the video! I picked up all of the parts. I went to start the install on my 03 Sierra. My factory radio has two connectors, 12 pin and 24 pin. Do I need a different Crux adapter?

You only use the big 24 pin connector. Tuck the little 12 adaptor in the back of the dash and forget about it. the radio woks fine. I had to hook up my blue amp wire to the red positive to get sound. I used a Boss Stereo with the Crux.

Thank you so much for this video it is very informative and helpful. I recently purchased this Crux interface because of this video and installed an aftermarket radio (Atoto S7 XE) in my 03 GMC Sierra Denali with the Bose stereo everything went fine and functioned as it should. There is one issue that i cannot figure out the sound goes out if I'm doing things like switching functions and will not return unless I cycle the ignition key basically power cycling the unit. Do you have any advice or suggestions that I can try? All my wires are matched, soldered, and insulated with heat shrink.

It may be the radio - The cheaper Chinese non-brand units can be very hit and miss!

Hey man I’ve watched so many videos trying to figure this out I have the crux harness and everything but my girlfriend bought me a head unit from Amazon it is a dual car play head unit everything seems to wire up right but when I got everything connected and went to put the radio in there was a smaller gray connection going into the back of my stock radio and I am not sure where this is supposed to go on the new head unit or harness I cannot figure it out

Thanks! I just bought a Sony XAV-AX1000 to put in my 05 1500 work truck. Any idea if I even need an interface box..? I don't have Bose, steering cntrl. or any of that. I'm also joking up a Fosgate 1200w amp w/2 Kicker CVR 10'S. I think I'm going to build a console box for them, we'll see! Love the idea for mounting the USB, that's cool! Thanks!

Is it possible to install an aftermarket radio and retain steering wheel controls by just getting a harness adapter without the interface? I have a 2005 Z71 Chevy Avalanche and I don’t care about on star but would love to retain my steering controls. I’ve never had a stereo install and lose my key fob abilities but something about the Bose system just seems odd to me.

Hey there, yes, this requires you to have a radio that is XM radio ready, and you will also have to purchase the XM module to retain your service with the new radio. amzn.to/2WM1ULH. I followed the wire diagram on my boss radio had all the same setup except bose stereo, steering wheel controls or onstar. After install everything works except my key fob to lock and unlock the truck. No blinking light on the dash either now. Any help would be appreciated!

Yes, you need a smart harness as 03 and up GM have converted over to a canbus data system. There are versions that are bare basic like this unit: amzn.to/3Yz79IM

Ok kid has a 04 silverdo. Factory harness plug has only 2 wires on one side and 6 or 8 on opposite side.....can't find a harness that matches up to this pin style.....

My 2005 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 has two harnesses, one like the one in yours, and a smaller black one beside of it. Where can i find an aftermarket adapter.The truck does not have on star, steering wheel controls, or the Bose sound system. Any help would be appreciated.

So the vss wire and parking brake wire. If i get the pac rp5-gm11, rp4-gm11, or rp3-gm11 so i connect noth parking brake wires and vss wires to each other? So basically do i connect the parking brake wire on the head unit to the parking brake wire on the rp3, rp4, rp5 and same with the vss wire?

Hope you get to read my comment, turns out that I am installing a stereo on a 2005 Hummer h2, I was looking at the diagram and saw this car came with an amplifier from factory, it has the Bose system, y was wondering if I have to run new cables to the speakers so I bypass the amp, or if I can just connect the speaker signal just on the harness behind the stereo? Installing on a H2 here. Everything works for 6-10 min then I lose all audio, headunit still works. Once I restart H2 it all works again

It’s a wiring issue. Recheck all connections and correct pairs (regardless of color) to ensure the function of that radio wire matches the function of the wire on the harness adapter.

What do you do with the remote wire on the pioneer side and the remote wire on the vehicle side? Can you use one or the other or do you have to splice them and leave a tail?

Generally it will be on it's own protected circuit, so an aftermarket one would be required to be installed in most instances.

Nope, and units with a single disc CD drive are disappearing quickly. There are no brand name units that manufacture a multi disc changer, although you may find one from 20 years ago used.

I just had best buy install a double din pioneer and after the install the dash bezal now has a huge gap and looks like complete shit I told them that this was unacceptable and they told me that there is no way to avoid it so basically your stuck with it... looks like this install doesn't have gaps.

One is running through your stock amplifier bose system. The other will bypass amp system and you will lose the sub. Which you may want to use if the amp is bad or goes bad

Happy to use your Amazon links for everything, including Metra adapter from single to double din. Crux only shows 2003 for the adapter, and you don’t show the Bluetooth microphone part. Will any microphone work with that stereo? Will the adapter still work for the 2002 Yukon XL Denali with the Bose factory system? Appreciate a reply before I use your links👍
