Watch a full tutorial as a 2016 Mazda 6 will have a brand new NVX N-Series 6.5" coaxial speakers installed. We will be using American International speaker brackets and wiring Metra harness adapters to bolt these up to the factory spots in the doors.
This video applies to Mazda 6 models for years 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019, and 2020. This video also includes door panel and speaker removal, wiring, installation, and testing.

The video was very helpful and informative. It helped me when working on my 2014 Mazda 6. The two thing I changed were using a "string-lasso-method" to remove my door panel clips from the door after removing my panel; most of the clips were still installed/inserted onto the door. And I used Hillman Pocket Hole Screws #8 x 1" long, to mount my speakers to the Speaker Adapter; no need for clips and/or nuts since it tapped right into the plastic adapter. Thge original manufacturer's screws were too long and didn't allow the adapter to sit flat when reinstalling. Just a little thought if you run into the same issues as I did.

Looking to see if I can do this to my girl's car. But I was wondering, since she wants a sub installed too. Where would I splice from? Little backstory. I upgraded my subwoofer on my '11 tsx. Added a Rockford sealed box and tapped into my rear deck speakers with a kicker LOC. I didn't want to add a stand alone amp and then stand alone box because I wanted to still have space in my trunk for my tools box and other stuff I carry around. So..my girlfriend wants the same setup while upgrading her door speakers. I haven't even seen the rear deck on her mazda 6 to see if she has rear deck speakers but if she doesn't, how would I add the LOC to her car? At the back of the stock head unit?

such a great sustem, why install plastic rings, and not wood? then zero sound deadening foil throughout the doors? Throughout the car?

QUESTION; The speaker ring adapters are mentioned as a NSB710, but it discribed as for a 1995 - 2016 Nissan part. Is this correct part for my 2016 Mazda 6?

Hey guys, Crutchfield shows some 6.5" speakers that fit the front doors but not the rears. Am I correct in assuming that if I use the adapters I can use the same speakers in front and back, regardless of what they say?

No you will need to find ones specific to your vehicle.

The question I have is, can you get away without using the speaker bracket?

I guess you could, but the clearance of the speaker magnet may hit the window. They are only a few bucks, so might as well do it right.

@@ProvoBeastAudio agreed the reason I was asking was because I purchased my indoor speakers from Best Buy and they charge $25 bucks per bracket, and they wouldn’t match Crutchfield which throws those and the harness is for free. Speakers were returned and Crutchfield gained a new customer!👍
