Hello Dr. Fields, I am 60 and was in a car wreck on Aug. 14 (head on crash with a drunk driver). Multiple injuries including humerus fracture. Had surgery and was getting PT and OT but after 20 sessions health insurance refused any more so very thankful for your exercises and your encouragement.

Thank you again, Dr. Fields! I left a comment on an earlier session about recovering from multiple fractures in the past year, and wanted to let you know that I am now on Session 8-9, and seeing such great progress. The exercises coupled with your positive words of reinforcement have truly been a blessing! I am 68, and appreciate all of the time and effort that you brought to the healing process.

8 weeks since my Proximal Humerus fracture and shoulder injury caused by a mountain bike fall whilst on holiday in Spain. Following your tuitional videos religiously, amazed at how quickly my mobility is returning especially at the age of 73. Already able to ride a mountain bike again albeit on smooth non technical trails your instructions and encouragement are fantastic.

I also did it MTB, but physio says only at 12 weeks apparenly I can start to 'road ride'! I miss riding so much. I did break it in a few places though, 3or4 fractures, maybe that means it takes longer, also I had no support, only had a check up after 8 weeks and didn't find these videos till 10 weeks in :/

9 weeks ago I tripped , and while trying to get my legs up under me and gaining momentum, I went “airborne” and landed directly on my shoulder on cement garage floor. I was carrying items in both arms. So my shoulder took direct hit, I heard the crack, couldn’t move, it was the worst pain I’ve felt in my entire life. ( I’ve given birth twice, all natural, no pain killers, and have had 14 surgeries!) The fracture was clean through the surgical neck of proximal humerus, and the greater tuberosity. So fortunate the breaks were not displaced!! Especially after undergoing rotator cuff repair and biceps tenodesis surgery 10 months ago on apposite shoulder. Your videos have helped me through this !! Thank you! ❤

Hi Adam, I wont say how old I am, age is only a number LOL. Which is what I told my 15yr old Granddaughter after she had made a comment that my injury was due to age! March 18th 2023 I came off the beach after walking my dogs, I put my foot onto first stone steppe to upper prom and went down face first, wet algae?. I was diagnosed with comminuted fracture glenohumeral head [3 fractures]. Losing my independence ands of my right arm was horrendous. I have a good pain threshold but OMG! The fracture clinic doctor said not to do exercise that triage nurse had given me on paperwork which ok I did stop for short time however as a retired nurse and keep fit person my thought was " use it or lose it". I found your videos on Proximal humerus fractures and have continued with each phase daily. At 6 weeks fracture clinic said X-ray showed that humerus bone had healed and I need to strengthen muscle and soft tissue, which I continue to work on with your videos. The physio asked to see my arm mobility and was impressed, I told her about your videos, she said she knew of you but not related to humeral, she said she would check them out and asked if I wanted to go to physio clinic for exercise which in UK is probably once a week if you are lucky. I said I would prefer to continue using your videos which she agreed to with a follow up appointment booked for 24th May 2023., which I think will also be a discharge as I think physio will be very impressed with my progress ie arm above my head etc I am now driving my manual car, back doing fit classes, gym work and swimming which is all thanks to you. I love your cheeky grin and motivational quotes/ sentences and yes I do repeat them after you/with you. I will stay with you until the last video as you have been such an inspiration to me and kept me going every morning before I have breakfast to start my day. Many, many thanks. Jean Broster

Hi i am Judith from the Netherlands and i am 61. Took a bad fall from 2 meters down 9 weeks ago and i have been following your video's from week 2. I left a comment back then to thank you for youre inspiring talks en excercises. I am still going forward but a little behing schedule. I had an echo and i showed some fluied in the supraspinatus en some thickness of the tendon. So moving my arm up is sometimes very painfull. Along with my fysiotherapist we do excersises and he does manual therapie on me. That is a great help. I wonder if there anything more i can do to reduce the tickness of the tendon/muscle of the supraspinatus. Some of youre previous excercises i still cant do. I practice every day en they are realy a big help. You are very inspiring!!!

Dr. Fields, Thank you for this very helpful series. I don't think the proximal humerus fracture from 10 weeks ago (impacted comminuted in neck into the head) is totally healed but there is new bone growth and I know in pt he removed the non weight bearing restriction. I can't seem to do first exercise on this video because can't raise arm yet above shoulder level on side or front. Does this mean the issue is bone vs muscular? I was able to do the other videos and rest of this one and they are very helpful but unsure about this limit in raising arm past shoulder height.
