It's funny how the animated series can make you really like a pokemon. If it weren't for the Twilight Wings series I probably wouldn't have given the Corviknight much thought, but since I have watched it its probably one of my favorite Gen 8 pokemon. It was thanks to the Sun and Moon anime that I ended up liking Rockruff, Lycanroc, Silvally, and Zoroark so much more. I know Zoroark came out in 5th gen but the 5 or so episodes it appeared in on the final Sun and Moon season left more of an impact than a majority of the Best Wishes/Black and White series. Not as bad as people make it out to be but not memorable enough to end up making me like a pokemon. I never saw the Zoroark movie though I assume theres no random Luxray freezing to death scene in it so I imagine its probably pretty good.

Out of sheer boredom I had the other day, I tallied all of his rankings because I was just that much of a nerd and bored. So, here are all the averages for all of his generation ranking videos: Surprise! The average rating for all generations is a B. However, there is still slight deviations. So, I gave all the ratings a number value (F being 0 and S being 5) and this is the average rounded to the second decimal: Gen 1- 3.15 Gen 2- 2.9 Gen 3- 2.95 Gen 4- 2.83 Gen 5- 2.81 Gen 6- 3.14 Gen 7- 3.07 Gen 8- 3.24 This makes Galar have the highest average ratings, and Unova have the lowest. Some extra bits that some people maybe curious about are S tier rankings and D/F tier rankings. Total amount of S tiers are: Gen 1- 14 Gen 2- 10 Gen 3- 12 Gen 4- 10 Gen 5- 11 Gen 6- 10 Gen 7- 13 Gen 8- 7 I also have the proportional percentage that the S Tiers make up of each generation, since each generation has a different amount of pokemon leading to some gens having more chances to get S tiers than others: Gen 1- 9.27% Gen 2- 10% Gen 3- 8.89% Gen 4- 9.35% Gen 5- 7.05% Gen 6- 13.89% Gen 7- 14.77% Gen 8- 7.87% Then, here's the same for D and F tiers, though a thing of note is Gen 4 is the only generation with any F tiers (Stunky and Bibarel) and as we just saw Galar is the only region with no D tiers. Totals: Gen 1- 7 Gen 2- 9 Gen 3- 13 Gen 4- 12 Gen 5- 15 Gen 6- 2 Gen 7- 6 Gen 8- 0 Proportional Percentage: Gen 1- 4.64% Gen 2- 9% Gen 3- 9.63% Gen 4- 11.21% Gen 5- 9.62% Gen 6- 2.78% Gen 7- 6.82% Gen 8- 0% After all of that, do keep in mind that this isn't to be taken super seriously and is all in good fun. That doesn't change the fact that Applin has a incredibly uninteresting design, it just looks kinda rushed, I would have appreciate it more if it wasn't so conceptual and cartoonish. Flapple is sooo pathetic, it is what I didn't like about his pre-ev exept it's supposed to be an evolution. I just hate that the apple part are like glued to his arms, completely gimmicky in my opinion. Anyway it barely look like an evolution, doesn't look stong at all especially for a physical pokemon. In my opinion it should've fused with the apple and look more like a wyvern, not a lizard with aple parts glued on it. Appletun I just don't care at this point, just cannot like it, it look so untreathening, I like the fairy-food but as an apple pie it doesn't look magical enough to make me forget is a super tacky thing crawling like a slug. Again it is just a "got the joke" line, the inspiration is clever but the execution is gimmicky and so underwhelming. I'm just not a guy who suddenly begin to fin a pokemon genius just because I understood it's concept, especially if it looks like an apple pie. It is not what I'm wanting from Pokemon, one or two joke pokemon is fine but in gen 8 is more than half the pokedex, and the other half is just fucking children book animals. Even for the starters they didn't put any care. There are some good pokemon like toxtricity, hatterene is how to make a gimmick work, coallosal is really cool it just wasn't finished like most gen 8 pokemon there are big holes in it's design, corvinight is cool too but it's just a crow with a type and duraludon is interesting.

There are so many mons in this gen that are wildly improved by how they move on the field or how they walk behind you. Applin is whatever, but when it pathetically rolls around behind you trying to keep up I just love it. Regieleki's design is neat, but combine that with the way its arms open up and how it dances gleefully and it jumps to S tier.

I love pokemon, I've loved it since I was 4. one thing I wish they did was add 30-40 new pokemon every generation, then there wouldn't be bloat and the quality would be just a bit better. that and more emphasis on exploration and adventure, instead of a set order. gamefreak are too afraid to really take a crack at reinventing the formula beyond gimmicks. but new life is what we need, we're not in the 90's/00's anymore.

Clever, but I think it might've been too straight forward and on-the-nose for a Pokemon name. If you say it, it just sounds like you're saying the word "fox", which isn't very exciting. Thievul sounds more like a made-up word, which is what all Pokemon names are.

When I originally saw its design I just got really excited because I thought for sure it would be based on Guy Fawkes considering the setting of the games but now that I think more about it, I think they were just going for a generic kind of cat burglar look. I still think a Guy Fawkes inspired fox would be a cool dark type concept, but then again perhaps they wouldn't want to base a pokemon off of someone who could potentially be considered a terrorist lol. One of the other big disappointments for me was the fact that Coalossal wasn't a giant steam engine. It would have fit its ability, it's typing, and its line's whole design theme of vehicles. It could have had a badass design with a big monster front with a cattle-catcher and a line of Carkoals riding along with it as the train cars (I realize not everyone likes the types of designs where it's like multiple of the previous evo but I think this could have been cool). It would also fit the setting of the games because Industrial Revolution. When I actually saw Coalossal's design, I didn't hate it like a lot of people, but it felt to me like one of those classic wtf moments like Golem where the evolution seems disconnected from the pre-evos, as if they combined what was originally two different ideas.

I guess it's like got a horn? Honestly I never even looked at that before because of how forgettable it is. I do like the irony in the fact that it evolves into one of its real life evolutionary ancestors. Edit: I just looked up Dugongs and I was completely wrong. They are actually related to manatees and not extinct, which I for some reason believed, although they are endangered. Sorry biology teacher!
