Lovely collection! The Matteo blue CU24 is my favourite. Always good to hear some Opeth ;)

That CE-22 held it's own really well. Might pull the trigger on one now.

It's hard to say which one sounds better they all sound pretty similar. Which one do you like the most over all?
@MrStephenlederle6 жыл бұрын
They all sounded relatively the same. With that in mind what I'd like to know is which one has the best feel while playing? If you could only pick one to cover all your gigging and recording needs, which one would you pick?

Steve L of the guitars in this video, I'd pick the Blue Custom 24. Other than the Tremonti, Ive owned it the longest. So comfortable. However of all the PRS I own, I'd probably choose my PRS 408, or even the 305 (single coils)

This demo was very helpful, they all sound so similar. I own the same 7 string and an se semi hollow. Must decide between a used core 24 or a new CE 24.

You should play both. Personally, i feel that the CE are more versatile. But i din't think i'd touch a "new" one. So, look for a model that is pre 2010. The new ones have a shallow carve and a few other things that bring it closer to an SE than a core line. Go for a 2007 or below, i reckon.

jldkrank A lot has happened over the last 12 months. I am making a video as we speak. Continuing on, but taking a fork in the road. I don't have the SE 7 string anymore.

I just got a 2017 PRS se custom 24 good guitar. I always used a fixed bridge guitar like on all my Gibsons. How do you drop tune these guitars with tremolo or any way to make it hardtail?
@rnodern7 жыл бұрын
wearestarstuff thanks for your comment. with the PRS tremolo, I've never had an issue just dropping to D. Takes seconds, even on stage. If you're going lower you'd need to counter the tension with different string guages which isn't something you'd be able to change around quickly in a live scenario. You can get tremolo blocks like Floyd Rose ones. but the PRS tremolo is fantastic!

Thanks yeah I have been just drop D and use digitech drop to get me to drop c and it has been working today

What profile neck is on your guitars ? Thanks

Doug Vaughn pattern regular mostly. the 89 CE is a little different, and to be honest I'm not 100% sure which. it might be pattern vintage.

What is the difference from an SE and a CE
@rnodern4 жыл бұрын
SE are made in Korea, Indonesia or China. Depending on the year & model. The CE models in this video (1989 cherry burst 24 fret, and the 2007 CE22 with maple fretboard) are essentially bolt-on core USA models. The newer CE models are also American made, but have korean made hardware. They also now have shallower top carves and a couple of other differences to make them more cost-effective for PRS to make.
