You are very correct, if you do not take a chance, you will never know if your idea will work on this tree. Nice idea taking the chance.

Wonderfulness. My willow leaf ficus is probably a year behind yours in development. When you prune, I prune. 😂

Really enjoyed the video. Thanks so much for all you do.

What would be cool is a lawnmower sitting next to the willow leaf ficus. Just a thought on that.

Nice bald cypress! Mine explodes with growth too. I'm constantly changing my mind or it's changing it for me rather. Every idea I had for it has gone out the window 😂 it's made it clear it's gonna do what it wants I shall have little to no say 😅

I think you made some great choices on that bald cypress. Pruning for the future! 😊

Nice 👍🏻, all of my willows which I had got from Kashmir died during summer, after listening to you, I won’t attempt again, saving space & effort thanks to your input ❤

Don't worry about the willow. Leave it outside covering the pot with leaves. I do that to mine and it survives the winter. My willow in the waterfall is never covered and survives the winter. They are tough. Mine sit in water all winter long.

Based on my experience, That bald cypress is going to send out branching all over the trunk and new leader. Good luck. Thanks, keep growing

Willow leaf ficus is something I also want to get soon. Another tropical that will take too much space in winter 😅

Willow in the gallon pot, place pot in at least a 1/3 of the way in water. It will grow for you better. They love to be immersed in water.

I'm so jealous of that Brazilian rain tree ]]] It is so hard to get them in Europe. But i finally have seeds . I hope one day it will look like your tree. Love it.

Do you save the branches to make willow water? I'm told it's a natural rooting hormone.

I think you will find the bald cypress will back bud heavily even from the trunk.

Aren't those willows frost-resistant?

Hi nigel i was wondering i have a yamadori bald cypress and can never seem to get branches to biforcate. Do u kno whens the best time to cut them to get them to biforcate and is it easier maybe to get it done on old thicker branches or does it work better on younger branches? I usually prune them after the first flush hardens off but struggle to get them to biforcate i have no idea why. All branches just keep growing straight. Maybe i have to really hard prune them back? Thanks

kzbin.info/www/bejne/inq3q6WQgqycrrc&si=TVR2v91dln3aSipg This may help. Dawn Redwood and Bald Cypress are quite similar.

This tree would be very difficult to over water. They grow in the swamps in the southern US. You may need to provide some protection from frost in the winter as the area they are native to has mild winters.
