This video is outstanding- so clear, concise and easy to follow. I am a brand new beginner with 3-D printing and this was extremely helpful. However, I do have one question. When I downloaded the software, it is now PrusaSlicer 2.1.1. I am trying to print my first model and the drop downs on all of the print settings are totally different from what I see in your video. I don't see the list for print quality, nor does mine show a place to choose what type of filament you are using. The tabs seem to be the same: print settings, filament settings, and printer setting, but once yo are in the drop down everything is different even under the simple tab. Have you by any chance made a video for 2.1.1?

Thank you so much, you have really helped me in my endeavor. Is infill the same as wall thickness? How do you set the wall thickness and can you change the thickness in different areas of your print or does it need to be the same throughout. Say I need a thicker base than the rest of my print?

Thank you! This was very good introduction. I have a question. How do I get rid of the "Wipe tower" that appears by default when I open a file in Prusa Slicer?
@thehardwareguy4 ай бұрын
Hmm, that sounds odd. Have you accidently chosen your default printer to be the Prusa MMU?

For me that has a custom one, this works very good as well. I run mine on ramps, horisontal axis instead of vertical lined x axis shafts and it still does a fantastic job as prusa has a marlin option.
@drakethomas6524 жыл бұрын
15:15 So when it says "Used Filament (m)" I'm assuming that's length, while "Used Filament (mm^3)" is the length with the thickness of the filament included, but what's Cost? Is it the approximation of how much money the print is worth, due to how much filament is used?
@thehardwareguy4 жыл бұрын
Cost is the total cost of filament used. For this to be accurate you must correctly set up the cost per kg under filament settings. For example: if a 1KG spool of PLA costs £20, and your print uses 500g of filament, that’s a cost of £10.

Any way to export the gcode directly to the printer via the PC, instead of the card and then moving the card physically to the printer and plugging it in.
@thehardwareguy4 жыл бұрын
Good question! You can use Pronterface which is installed with PrusaSlicer as a separate application. However, I highly recommend sticking with the SD card. If you decide to use USB and your computer freezes, sleeps, or even loses USB connectivity during a print, you will have to start all over again! Much less risk of failure with an SD card.

Hi I’m having a hard time with prosaslicer 2.2 every time I download something from Thingiverse it’s pretty beautiful but is too large the holes for screws are very small but the part it’s larger so nothing fits into nothing what can I do thanks for the help Eli
@thehardwareguy4 жыл бұрын
Hi Eli! sounds like you’re having a scaling problem? typically holes for bolts on 3D prints need to be bigger than the actual bolts... e.g an M3 bolt requires a hole of around 3.5mm! This is due to the tolerances of 3D printing, the expanding/contracting of plastic during printing causes measurements to not be exact

So you can't print wirelessly or by physical printer cable?! You have to export to an SD card then manually insert into the printer, THEN print?! This is nuts. Much simpler software allow printing directly from the program!
@thehardwareguy2 жыл бұрын
It increases the reliability of the printer! Printing over USB or wireless makes the printer dependant on other devices. Prints are far less likely to fail if the file is stored locally on an SD card.
