If you enjoy tinkering and assemblage then the choice is easy, get the kit because it's fun (in my opinion). Saving $500 is just a bonus 😊

Good stuff man. Definitely seems like a good value to go this route if you have the time.

not watched till the end just yet, but I have to say, they should call this "mostly assembled" and "quasi assembled", for these 2 kits (not semi and full). Also, looking at the semi assembled content out of the box, it does seems that a huge chunk of it is already done. If you are a bit handy it's probably worth the money savings to go that route

I always appreciate assembly of any new printer so I learn more about it. After that, fully assembled if its for a business.

I didn’t feel like there was a whole lot of learning here to be honest. A few things perhaps. You don’t get as much of an appreciation for how things work as you do with a MK3/4 kit. More of the learning comes after the point of “fully” assembled, which is the installation of the tool heads and initial calibrations. Even for big businesses, you’d be better off paying an employee $250 for the day to put this together versus paying Prusa $500, in my opinion.

@@ygk3d maybe later, they’ll sell a complete kit. Or maybe not.

At minute 6:06, you assemble the upper part, but how do you assemble the lower part? I have also purchased the Prusa XL semi-assembled printer with 2 extruders, but I am stuck at minute 6:06 because the white guides keep falling off. Please provide a more simplified video or the procedure to follow.

It would be nice to see a single person assembly (including lifting of the box), because in two is going much faster/easier. So I do not think that your timing is correct. I just received mine and I am barely able to lift the box and I do not have anyone to assist me. KR

Does the semi assembled come with the instructions to assemble it ?

Not in paper copy. They are online.

Nice video. Can't wait for your full unbiased review of the XL. There is so little actual content on the 5 tool head. I'm interested too see what the final verdict will be.

I'm looking forward to seeing more Prusa XL+5 content too 👍

In my experience the advantage of getting the fully assembled (really semi-assembled) is there's less chance that Prusa can say you assembled it wrong if something goes wrong.

Man it took me longer to build my Mk4 than it took y’all to build the XL. 3 for the assembled + 4 hours for the semi is less than the 8 hours I spent on the Mk4. Hopefully I get quicker in the future 😂
@ygk3d10 ай бұрын
The MK4 assembly is way more involved. In the XL assembly the hard parts are already done for you.

Doesn't look like those prints had the issues yours did. Have you figured out the issue yet?
@ygk3d11 ай бұрын
The prints shown at the end were from my 5 tool version. I have resolved some of the issue but it's still not perfect.
