I installed the slicer a few days ago. For as much of a tech guy as I am, I feel this video is very necessary. It is short and to the point.

Bryan, I am a new user and have watched a ton of youtube video's and I have to say "this is one of the best that I have seen. I can't thank you enough. Hope to see more". Great Job!

Thank you, Brian! Really great presentation and details. With your help I setup my PrusaSlicer 2.4.0 for the first time and inserted my sample part and review its layers along with the software options. Our 3-d printer is PRUSA i3 MK3. I can't wait to lay my hands on it and try to print my first part. Thanks again!

Yes, I've tried PrusaSlicer 2.3 and the "paint on" features are a real game changer. I can't wait to see what's coming down the line.

Great video. Thank You. I made just very first printout using PrusaSlicer version 2.3.3 on my Anycubic i3 MegaX printer. I chose to use generic ABS filament. Before I was using Cura slicer 4.11 i believe. Since Anycubic is MegaX is not defined, I had to setup my printer. It was not much to do since I used i3Mega as reference and had just to increase print volume parameters X,Y, Z. I had also modify filament temperatures. system value for print-bed is 105 - 115C which is perfect for ABS, but Anycubic I3Mega doesn't go more than 90C which is a weakness of this printer, however it is possible to print with ABS using this temperature. I increased also nozzle temp to 260C just by my experience on filament I have in my stock. Print was OK, good quality. I noticed that system speeds presets in PrusaSlicer are more aggressive than in Cura, so printer moves faster but my printer could afford such settings which was very positive surprise for me. So I started to use PrusaSlicer for a while to see which slicer will be better for what I am doing.

Thanks for the feedback! It was a bit more verbose than I had planned, but hopefully it gives you a good insight into navigating the software! Welcome to 3D printing!

15:38 so is there not an option to have it auto play so you can see movements without having to drag the bar along? In cura you can click play to see all movements for each layer if you want, as well as play entire print from start to finish. Does PrusaSlicer not have this feature?

More prusaslicer tips pls. Loved the video. Currently I'm using prusaslicer on most projects but I occasionally use cura for tree supports. Hoping that prusaslicer gets that feature soon so I don't need cura.

SUGGESTION: This was excellent. I'm coming from Cura to PS. Can you cover some of the more advanced features if they exist in PS. Like Combing, Ironing, Adaptive layer height, etc. Linear Advance? Is there anything in Marlin like Klipper's Input Shaper and Pressure Advance?

Thanks. This clears up some confusion I had about it. I wanted to try out prusaslicer on my desktop for my new Ender 2 pro but it's a bit different than cura and I need to clean up cura on my laptop. I have too many profiles and things saved for my ender 3 s1 and starting fresh on my pc was the lazier solution lol. The e2 pro will also stay upstairs near my pc anyways instead of in the shop with my other printer where the laptop usually stays. There's a few features about prusas that I like better than cura so far. It does seem to be beneficial to have both or even more than these two slicers. I really like the tree supports in cura but painting on supports in specific areas seems super handy.

another quick tip I picked up from Makers Muse is that after you’ve sliced, you can do down to the bottom and tick the box for showing seams. They will show up as white dots on the sliced model.

I've been using cura for ever until... lol Disappointed in the latest version. I thought my printer(s) was having issues. After replacing several parts. I tried PS. And up and printing again. It was the updated cura messing up my prints.. Changed and won't look back.

Yeah I agree the basic settings. You can go a lot deeper especially with the filament overrides and gcodes. To allow you to create specific filament settings without having to mess with the printer or print settings

My first exposure to PrusaSlicer was plagued with trying to figure out the units. I made a precise model in Blender and imported it into PrusaSlicer, and depending on the scaling it was either horribly small or so big slicer failed to load. I'm still trying to figure out how the slicer interprets the units. Other than that it seems like a great slicer.

Lost you completely at 30:44 to 31:25. Serious lack of what the heck is going on here, was doing mediocre up here. Re running through I now realise I have not got a clue how to use this slicer and it's 'printer' 'filament' and 'print settings' dropdowns, they seem to change one another, and seems you have no idea what change in one changes the other. This really is totally confusing, how can you use a slicer where one option change can change another in a different window/tab. You just do not have any clue as to where you are when. Bryan, have I missed something very elemental here or would you say you have not go something quite correct, as if this operates exactly as you have explained then it is totally unusable in this state with any kind of confidence in what is actually going on where when. Many thks in advance.
