Too bad, here's a thread translated from English that's completely irrelevant because it's about the US and not your own country. My biggest problem with Linux so far is that it doesn't have an extensive enough program list - Solidworks, Catia, Matlab and online games with kernel level anticheats. Also It's harder to pirate videogames too... But those things aren't a "Linux" problem, it simply isn't supported by the devs because the userbase is small so it's not worth it for them to develop for a different platform that makes up 0.1% of the userbase. That being said if the userbase reaches a critical treshold and devs actually start supporting it - Linux would be THE best OS... All we need is to reach a critical mass of users.

I wonder how fast you will come back to Windows. If you switch that fast and don't give yourself time to adjust to the new system, you will come to the conclusion pretty fast that Windows is bad, but it's the devil you know. These quick switches usually end up in people going back to the Windows version they have been using before and using them even long after the EOL - ask the people that still use XP if you don't believe me. I switched to Linux about two years ago and the first few months were just a huge pain as I had to relearn all the things I already knew before on Windows. I wanted to go back so many times as there was no need for learning a new system that does the same things, but does them just in a different way. You should also never switch to Linux from a system that works fine as the learning curve on Linux will feel even more unreasonable.

PopOS had an option for installing nvidia drivers out of the box, so especially important if like me you have an amd cpu with no onboard graphics, youre gonna want those so you have a display right after install 😅 Pop also is more friendly, lots of GUI menus so you not living in the terminal if that's not your thing. Currently running it on a desktop with AMD cpu and nvidia card, and an HP laptop totally designed around win11. No sound, touchpad, display adjustment worked when rolled back to win 10 and god awful battery life issues. Swapped to Pop, no issues and much much better battery life. Laptop is a budget gaming HP with intel cpu and nvidia graphics. This is just my recent experience after having gone back to Linux to try it every few yrs or so. Otherwise I would say Linux = Windows both have pros & cons. Like it can't run every win Software & if u rely on them u will have a harder time. For a gamer some games u have to tinker around a bit + with anti cheat have problems and also start to block Linux machines since there is no kernel level anti cheat for Linux. So the hackers in game can use their hacks undetected. Driver updates may take longer and when there are issues with them or games u have to figure out urself how to fix it or what settings to disable/ which proton version / startup parameter to use. Emulation runs great on both though.

It was a sure upgrade from my earlier laptop which had a Pentium M, and had allowed me to complete HL2 (up to Epsiode 2?) and have my SPICE simulations run faster. Last year I had to get a newer laptop as the VAIO is breaking itself (keyboard no worky, screen has taken a piss and the fact it needs the AC adapter all the time and a battery is expensive compare to the laptop itself) This newer laptop, I'm typing this comment with, is a Dell Precision 7510 with the fastest i7 they could get.
