Backward compatibility is one of the reasons I’m on PC now! I have PS3 games that I can’t play. The reason I can’t play them is because my PS3 died from the yellow light of death. The PS3 is no longer manufactured so I’m fucked.

I had this issue so i got the RPCS3 emulator. I recommend getting a disk drive so you can play all yours games from the disk itself without issues. Idk about your situation but you can transfer your saved data to PC as well so I didn't have to restart anything. This emulator has a strange knack where if you play any downloaded games, you have to run it over and over again until it performs normally without long load times or in-game lag. Plus, You can upscale the resolution and have 60fps+. I did this after Red dead 1 came back out on the PSN store for the same price I originally bought it for 10 years ago.
