Is this setting also available on Samsung Galaxy hotspot? I haven't been able to connect to my mobile hotspot since the 3.0.0 update. To be more specific, it connects once in a while.

@@Mr_Mango_kor as far as I know, this should work the same. Someone did comment to me that Android phones may not let you choose a password security type. This could cause problems. My knowledge only goes as far as this video though. I am just trying to help as many as I can.

Problem with mine is, it connects. My phone shows its connected. But it wont make any connection with my ps5. If i do it on wifi there is NO issue whatsoever. What am i doing wrong !? 😭 Ive got a 11 hour busride next month. I need this working.

@@ManyaMitchell does your phone’s remote play app work while your phone is on cellular only, not using WiFi from home?

@@ManyaMitchell there is other things that you must test. First, does it even connect to you phone using the remote play app while your phone is on mobile? Have you changed your DNS settings on the PS5? What is your internet upload speeds from the PS5 (testing it on the PS5)? I’ll try to help you in the time given. I had the same exact problem though, so I know the problem. My iPhone on T-Mobile just stopped working when using the Remote Play App on day. This was when the portal stopped working on my mobile hotspot as well. If the portal connects to the hotspot then that is one thing we can “X” out. Next is your PS5’s upload speed and DNS needs to be changed to at least Google’s (8.8.8.8 and secondary to 8.8.4.4).

@@DeCyPhEr1993 I unfortunately don’t have the answer. I only know this works for T-Mobile in the US on iPhone’s hotspot tethering for sure. I can’t test other situations, but you can try and share your results with us.

My portal can Connect to iPhone but the picture on the portal is Like KZbin 360p. Ma ps5 has Upload test of 36 Mbit. Dont change DNS to Google Server but why is 36 Mbit not enough or is it my german Telekom Router that stop my getting Full picture qualitative. In the Home Wifi picture is clean.

@@bitthecoin4192 honestly most people that have this problem have a realization that it is time to upgrade there home network. Owning your own equipment that you don’t get from your Internet provider is always superior as well. The reason why it’s able to connect while you’re in home with your router and have no problems because it’s not using the Internet router, simply connecting the data to your portal and your PS5. It’s basically just a wireless connection between both units if you had an issue here that means you definitely have an issue with your router, but you stated you don’t. @@zanieru7041 that sucks! You can try it again. It is a long video. But also you can ask users around here for help or to see if Metro PCS is the issue. It seems to be an overall fix for most. I have seen people with different services say it doesn’t work and then people that have their exact service say it works for them.

@ Thanks for sharing. That small option is an issue with other devices as well. I am not sure but I think you can turn this off after you establish connection to increase your internet speeds. But you have to toggle this on to connect, and after you connect you can toggle it off. But you have to do this every time. Discovery with it off for so many devices is nearly impossible. If you try this out let us know. Again thanks for sharing. Every variable counts to understanding better.

If anybody here that found my video to fix the issue, but their phone or service doesn’t match up with my video and it still worked; could you please post if your service or phone were different so that others know that it helps in different scenarios? I have been contemplating why you’re having this issue. Is it possible that you have Maximum Compatibility turned on? This could hamper your hotspot speeds. It’s there to help devices find and connect to your hotspot, but it does damper your Internet speed. The fact that you have established a connection is a good thing. Artifacting and losing connection after has to be related to something like this, but I can’t completely put my finger down on the issue.

@@brandon9670 so you followed this video and it worked connecting yes or no? Are you using an iPhone? If you are, make sure maximize compatibility is on, and then after you connect go back and turn maximize compatibility off. See if that works. If not tell me more.

Yes, I followed the video and was able to connect, but the connection is horrible and only lasts a few seconds. I’m trying to connect thru my iPhone T-Mobile Hotspot. @@brandon9670Maximize Compatibility will limit your Hotspot’s Speed and Strength. If you have already successfully connected to the Hotspot don’t ever have Maximize Compatibility on. Only use this if a device is have trouble locating it on your first initial connection to your Hotspot, but after that turn that off.

Okay dookie where are you getting the IP address your default gateway where are you getting those from? Those should be coming from your router actually so if I put those same IP addresses in I'm going to go through your router see you soon I'm saying so where are you getting those? I have seen other people use the exact same IP addresses so I'm just curious where they come from

@@Stev-mi2fd 172.20.10.5 is a private IP address which is reserved for private networks (such as Private LANs, Internal Networks etc.). Therefore, 172.20.10.5 has no physical location assigned. 172.20.10.5 is part of a private ip range following the standards set by RFC 1918. Reserved IP like 172.20.10.5 cannot be used to browse internet. A private network must use a public IP gateway or proxy to connect internet.

But I think you may have a completely different problem. Feel free to share, an I might be able to help. The more details the better. I am not kidding the more detailed on internet and equipment used helps me understand greatly. Reddit also has a ton of people with the same problems as us with answers to help.

@@Ohthatmuslimguy what’s crazy is this is an old post and people are still finding it helpful. I got the Portal day one and my hotspot worked, but one day T-Mobile had an update and it completely blocked my hotspot. I went absolutely crazy because nobody was talking about it then and I had to do so much research to figure out a fix. The funny thing is, I don’t really use or need the hotspot, but it’s the fact that I couldn’t get something to work that was supposed to work, lmfao! I encourage you to share any details about service and what phone you’re using to help others know if this fix should work for them as well.
