PS2 Games I wish had Trophies on PS5

the PS2 is the greatest selling console of all time
It's no wonder that many classics have been ported over to ps3 & ps4 with full trophy support
But what about the games that did'nt make it? This video is a wishlist for the games I grew up playing, that have yet to recieve that treatment

As someone who has only dabbled in the softcore achievements so far(im addicted to save states lol), I LOVE Retroachievements and it has breathed new life into playing old games for me.

Retroachievements is so cool.. I have tried it out over the last year - I think I'll want to make a video on it to introduce it at least, because it's such a great way to enjoy older rgames that MS and sony refuse to port or are unable to And that's just for their consoles, yet alone all the others like sega and snes etc. Im quite enjoying gameboy achievemnts even lol

Smashig video man, i think games have come so far in terms of graphics that for a lot of them they lost the magic. Only rare now we get that buzz that if your not a hunter you wanna get all the trophies for a certain game. Where in a lot of these titles trophies would be an addiction. Part 2 coming soon

Yeah ps2 games would deffo be targeted to our age group lol. No one gonna be wanting to play these old games but us older dudes haha I remember waiting for ages for code Veronica to get trophies, and it ended up getting 2 lists!

I only know the TLOTR game from this list. I remember being blown away by the quality of the game. But seen the footage makes me wonder how many people would actually go back. On a happier note: The whole video gave me some kind of peace. Times were simpler back then. And I enjoyed being transported back into my childhood mind. The games I played on the PS2 all have trophies: FFX, GTA San Andreas, God of War 1 + 2, ICO, Shadow of the Colossus. I am in a very privileged situation. I hope, you get the chance to play some of them with trophy support one day.

I had a great time re-playing these ps2 games for footage, there's so many great ps2 games. I am a bit of a sucker for nostalgia! It is a bit mad how many ps2 games actually have trophies now. I'm glad you enjoyed! I too loved the simpler times lol

The Two Towers game was amazing. I remember playing through it loads with a friend when it came out. I loved all the behind the scenes stuff you could unlock. Timesplitters and outbreak would be really good ports to play through too. Great video man

I couldn't stop playing tbh, I did want to get some footage of helms deep but that's the end of the game I have played a fair bit of timesplitters on retro achievements, just makes me want it on ps even more

A lot of my favorite PS2 games do have trophies in some form, which is pretty cool! Ico, Shadow of the Colossus, Dark Cloud, etc. I'd love to see some trophies for some of the classic RPGs, especially games like Suikoden III and the Shadow Hearts trilogy. Maybe Amplitude and Frequency for some rhythm gaming? Or some of the horror stuff like Fatal Frame, Kuon and Siren. So many amazing games on the PS2, so your options are pretty endless. Great video!

I'd just love if they ported over PES 5 to PS5, i don't know if you like football or ever heard of it, but the best football game back in the day, with trophies i'd be over the moon but Konami would never....

Mate I used to playa lot of football games when I was younger - I used to have to defeat my older brother so I would be allowed to play the ps1 haha But yes, im aware of PES - not somehting I grew up playing but my bro always loved PES He would even mod the new kits in using photoshop, one of my first introductions to image ediitng tbh Being konami, we've more chance of agambling PES machine than an actual game, but you never know!

Sony stopped releasing PS2 ports in general back in 2019 or so. Unfortunately most all those developers have long since moved on. Another problem is licenses have to be renewed, and if the game has copyrighted music like Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater Underground 1, then it’s practically impossible to get an actual PS2 port that’s playable on the PS5. Only a few companies like Rockstar Games have allowed their PS2 games to get ported. Most of the companies of the PS2 era no longer exist. You’re better off getting a PS2 emulator for your PC and playing games on there.

Yeah you're right, and its like I said, licensing hell or whatever other reasons. It's unlikely any new ps2 re-releases will come out. Whos gonna want to look at these graphics in this day, even if licensing/ the devs allow it? Remakes are more likely if any interest in these IP's exist - Timesplitters literally had the go ahead until their untimely end Thats why it's a wishlist :) It's fun to hope, and to look back on the games we enjoyed in a simpler time At the end I also mention retro achievemnts, scarching both the itch to play ps2 games whilst earning achievemnts I'll deffo make a vid on any RA game I manage to 100% someday

@@Mode47yt I prefer older games anyway. They’re just more fun and I don’t have to sit and watch an interactive movie for dozens of hours. There’s of course the Jak & Daxter trilogy readily available on PS5, and the old Ratchet & Clank games that can live-streamed on PS5. But overall the number of actual PS2 games is very small. Not only are most games in licensing hell, most of the people running things couldn’t care less. Retro gaming is niche and only attracts a few people.
