[PS3] Final fantasy Versus XIII - All gameplay footage [Before FFXV]

Fun Fact: Every building, every monument was to be traversable. The entire world was to connect as a sphere like the original overworlds. If this was released, it would had turned this series into Elder Scrolls, over ten years per release. I'll be honest though, would had been worth it with expansions that keep it alive. I wouldn't mind if they brought back overworlds again. Was fun flying around looking for secret areas. Exploration is what I crave most from this series so I end up replaying older games or other series such as Tales Of.

If you’ve paid attention to kingdom hearts. The master of masters kinda does that with the pocket dimensions . With believe it or not , quadratum ( after world ) or Insomnia) as the main city world you’re going to be in majority of the time and will have probably most of the world explore able . I just hope they stuck to the darker tone of versus / kh2 because kh3 had a lot . When I say a lot , I mean a lot of deaths . And kh3 remind , sora dies and wakes up in the opposite world of the final world , the dark world . Where a particular character named yozora , who’s name translates to night . And the game yozora was meant to be in was called Verum Rex. Which translates into True King. Rather on the nose .

The way the Insomnia section played out is WAY too different than 15. I think Verum Rex will take heavily from the unused story beats to create something new.

If they did try to make it for PS3 they would be in a similar situation to what Cyberpunk is dealing with now. The hardware just wasn't powerful enough. Just like how the PS4 now isn't powerful enough to run Cyberpunk

The mission scripting looks amazing. But the Final product is obviously more polished. To the point where the characters be it The Bros felt relatable to my actual friends, fleshed out. I feel as though they did their best to try and release the vision to what they could at the time they were given.

Verum Rex legit means True King. Can't wait as it's clear what's in store. While it may be an on the outside looking in type of experience like the other worlds of KH, I'm still grateful we get to experience it. I also hope this is a sign that we can explore other Final Fantasy worlds. We have had enough Disney. Additionally, wouldn't it be clever if they somehow destroy the world at its conclusion, marking the reason why we never got it released? It's through Sora we get to experience another universe. 💕

Bet the marketing team was pulling their hair over the game's long and messy development. It has been delayed, reworked, upgraded, had the director switched, all over the course of ten years. I just wish they released their early design as a novel and art books combo.

What all these FFv13-like games that are seemingly inspired by this original concept fail to replicate is the art direction and tone of the environment. This world is very realistic and dreary, almost like a Matrix world. I wish we got this game instead of Verum Rex teasers and that one game that looks like Verum Rex; which looks awesome, but feels very different.

Somewhere along the line of development, this game got disneyfied hard. I enjoy the finished game, but there's so much that doesn't work for me, it's the most derivative game i've ever played, you can feel all the parts where they played another game and thought "yeah thats cool, lets put it in this game even if it doesn't fit or do anything for the plot or world building at all". Really wish they focused on the plot more.... THE WORLD IS ENDING, lets go take cute pics next to this rock! UWU

@@thepooroldsoul8179 Lunafreya is a new character that replaced Stella, it's not just a different name, you know. Stella have the same power as Noctis (King's power and KOTR weapons) while Lunafreya is well......i don't know, i mean, who cares about Lunafreya anyway ? She's a forgettable character in the original FFXV. While FFXV Royal changes a few things and adding a ton more, she's still a forgettable character.

Idk I feel like XV would still be better than this. FFXV had some of the most natural FF dialogue and in FF7 remake it went back to the weird robot dialogue. Nomura needs to get it together

@@venomshake8187 Versus XIII was more of a concept than anything else. The game went through several reboots, and any trailer that came out depicting any semblance of a story or plot was already no longer canon. Stella and Noctis clashing in one trailer was no longer a thing at some point eventually. After 7 years through development hell and only about a quarter of the game was finished, Square replaced Nomura with Tabata. With about 4 years worth of development for FFXV, the game was surprisingly well polished and playable despite some rough edges. Future updates only made quality of life in the game better. Sadly, the rest of The Dawn of the Future DLCs were cancelled and Tabata left Square. Sad fate for FFXV.

Final Fantasy XV was originally announced in 2006 as Final Fantasy Versus XIII for PS3. It was never finished for PS3 and came out 10 years later for Xbox One, PS4 and PC as Final Fantasy XV. So yes, Final Fantasy Versus XIII does not exist.
