Yes. Make something cool and unique! But instead they make money by doing nothing new. Same thing, different year. I want games that explore new ideas and focus on being fun, not just micro transactions and loot boxes. Bring the soul back to gaming! Which is why I mostly play indie anymore.

Agree. Couple of months ago I started collecting indie titles made by smaller companies like Blue Fire, Death's Door, Turnip Boy, Elliot Quest, Kena and a couple others. Been having a blast playing those titles compared to more popular AAA games. I noticed the indie scene has been gaining traction about the last 5 to 6 years, definitely something to support imo. Hurt those corporations right where it hurts, in their wallets. Speak with your money. 😎

I just miss sitting in a random CoD lobby back in 2007 and just talking mad shit with other players in a free, uncensored, unmonitored lobby. You’d hear some of the CRAZIEST shit in them lobbies. Xbox 360 had a lot of exclusives/timed exclusives back then. Dead Rising, Lost Planet, Ace Combat 6, Beautiful Katamari, Magna Carta 2, Eternal Sonata, Tales of Vesperia, Star Ocean 4, Infinite Undiscovery, Mass Effect, Chrome Hounds, Ninja Blade, Ninja Gaiden 2. We’ve highlighted how good the PS3 is, I took this video to pump up how aggressive Xbox went on exclusives back then. The last great generation when practically every console was really strong. But for me, it was Xbox 360 as I missed most out on most of the PS3 games. I’m now playing catch up and it is imo equally impressive.

I agree that most 360 exclusives were great like Gears of War, Lost Odyssey, Fable 2, Dead Rising 1...but the ps3 exclusives were awesome as well, Infamous 1 & 2, Jak & Daxter Tools/Clank/Nexus, God of War 3, the entire Uncharted trilogy, and definitely The Last of Us.

For sure. Early PS3s from 2006 to 2007 with disk based PS2 backwards compatibility has the highest risk of the yellow light of death (YLOD) from hardware failures. It's a money saver to just have a PS2 and a reliable PS3 console with low power draw (preferably the later slim models and the super slim models).

I am hyper excited to play some games on the PS3 I either never finished, or never got to play. My physical media collection for PS3 is now officially standing at 213 games. The highlights of what I am looking forward to is: Kane and Lynch Dog Days, All the Ratchet and Clanks, Yakuza 3 and 4, all the Uncharted games, Sly Cooper HD Trilogy, Sleeping Dogs, RDR Undead Nightmare, GTA Episodes from Liberty City, God of War colelction, all the Dead Space games, Bioshock Infinite, and Assassins Creed Blag Flag. Just to name a few.

I spent literally hours playing Collin McCreary's DIRT 2 on PS3. It's one of the most fun racing games I have ever played next to the old NFS games on PS2. And for a game that came out in 2009, it still looks incredible. PS3 & XBOX 360 was a perfect balance between graphics and gameplay. PS3 is the best console for single player experiences. While XBOX 360 was best for it's online experience due to popularity of games like Halo & COD for example. Both consoles have their strengths and weaknesses. But both consoles are awesome in their own unique way.

I remember coming very late to the party with PS3. Around 2012-ish. The first physical disk I bought was from a seller on a classifieds website...it was COD Black Ops 2. Stuck that baby in the PS3, got a headset hooked up, and to this day I have no idea where 6 months of my life went. Servers were full. Player leveling was awesome. Lootboxes were not a real thing...yet. Just pure unadulterated fun...even for a 36-year-old like me at the time.

I also jumped into the PS3 very late as well. I didn't get one until early 2014, and one of the first games I got for it was Modern Warfare 2, which was the first time I played online multiplayer and finally saw its appeal.

The 360/PS3 generation was a fantastic followup to the Xbox OG and PS2 because Playstation actually had to complete with Xbox AND Nintendo to get positive feedback from the gaming media. Today Playstation has cancelled games, closed studios, releases hardware that was never in demand and releases ont note games! They still get overwhelming praise for doing horribly. Xbox has actually introduced services and has made phenomenal strides to get more people interested in console gaming. Back in 2005, this would not stand!

Downloading stuff was always the worst thing on PS3, the speeds were abysmal. I still remember when i had to install every GT5 update and DLC, took me over a week on a high speed cable network. The 360 might be a glitch mess today because Microsoft basically killed most servers already but a modded 360 blazes through the download speeds of the PS3.

The audio and video quality with a portaholics hdmi adapter is sooooo much better than the actual gamecube lol. easy to soft mod too. Super cheap i can find them all day long for 15 bucks shipped with a bad disc drive. You dont need the disc drive with the mod. 😂 i use the wii as a gamecube system. Its an amazing value in gaming rn😂

When it existed to have a fun time. Not milk us like cows for every penny. When you bought a game and it just worked. No downloads, no micro transactions, no day 1 patches. Games were mostly polished and ran great. I wish we could go back to that model. I don't care at all for 4K 120fps and 250gb games. I want fun! Focus on fun first, then make it look good. I miss this gen of games. I originally had a PS2. Then my parents got us a 360. It was awesome! I loved playing it and all the games! It was always a blast! I kinda remember the whole PS3 vs 360 thing and it still is stupid lol. I need to get back onto my 360. I never had a bad time with that console. Newer consoles have mostly lost me. I don't like the Xbox One or PS4/5. It feels so lifeless and corporate. They really figured out how to suck the soul of the system to make more money. And it's a shame.

Agreed. The ultimate era. The XBOX 360 was amazing but my favoured console was the PS3 Phat. Although I still have and use my original 360, sadly, my PS3 died; ironic given the 360's reputation. Back in these good old days, the designers did most of the play testing rather than leaving that to the paying public but best of all, the thing that tugs on my nostalgia gene is the instruction manuals. My OG PS3 got the YLOD back in 2009, but the PS3 Slim I bought to replace it is holding up fine to this day. I didn't get the X360 until around 2013 (when the urge to play Alan Wake became too strong to ignore) and it's also working fine today. I still have plenty of games for these machines in my backlog, but if a 360 game is compatible with Xbone, I'll usually play it there instead. Just played Far Cry 2 that way and it worked great. Love that game, by the way. Most people don't. It almost felt as fresh and fun as it did back in 2008 when I played it on PS3. Currently playing Enemy Front on the 360. Not a great game. Probably won't finish it. 😄

I still have my Xbox 360, PS2, and PS3 and play games on those 3 consoles a lot more than my Switch and PS5. The older generations featured the good old days when the focus was only on delivering games (both exclusives and multi-plats) with quality single player and multiplayer gameplay. Today's generation features a wide assortment of anti-consumer practices (i.e. requirements of an internet connection to play certain games, microtransactions, making certain games unplayable without paying extra money for subscriptions, etc.)

Aaaah...the 7th gen. In my opinion, the all around best gen too! Some would argue the 6th is. And I totally get that. 6th was/is amazing too! But the 7th is just the sweet spot for me, personally in gaming. Still play my systems from the NES days to current gen. But play my 7th gen systems (360, PS3 and Wii) the most.

There is fun to be had with these consoles, but I think there were a lot of problems with this generation that started the downfall of traditional video gaming in my opinion. Day 1 patches, stupid DLC, paid subscription services, DRM software (on pc) and annoying online accounts all becoming the new standard. Increased levels of corporate greed in general increased overall suckage. I find it hard to be nostalgic about a generation with all those problems being introduced. Though, I see how it is probably easier to go back to this generation with the state games are currently in - an utter dumpster fire of epic proportions.

I bought my PS3 on Release from a Virgin Megastore 😂 for £450. Bundled with Resistance, The Darkness and Motorstorm. 60gb model with the card slots on the front. Had that for 3 years until it Yellow light of deathed on me. Sony were amazing on their warranty. Gave me a new 60gb model until that did the same 6 months later, Sony gave me a like for like replacement once again 60gb model. That died 9 months later and spoke to Sony and they agreed to switch me to a PS3 slim free of charge for the inconvenience. THAT WOULD NEVER HAPPEN TODAY 😢

See when we bought the Xbox we were like okay this is awesome but when that PlayStation drops everything's going to look so much better run so much better because it's more expensive and came out a year later right. Everyone thought that was the premium console. But the funny thing is after it came out and game started coming out for it. Games actually ran and looked way better on the Xbox. And it took away a lot of that feeling after some time knowing that the PlayStation 3 really wasn't that much more powerful than the Xbox 360 and actually the Xbox 360 version of the games ran looked way better. Towards the end PlayStation developers really started taking advantage of the cell processor and started making some amazing games. Comparable on the same level as the Xbox 360.I wouldn't say it surpassed it so honestly the best console for me is the Xbox 360. And I wanted the PlayStation 3 to be the better console I thought it was when I bought it at the time it felt like I upgraded but in all honesty I didn't. But you don't want to tell yourself that at the time but looking back at hindsight the Xbox is definitely better game wise anyways. Just the way the graphics looked and the color to it if you put the same game in side-by-side on each console with the same TV you'll notice the Xbox 360 version looks so much better so much more colorful the PlayStation 3 just has this really dull look to it like almost like black and white it really tones down the colors. Kind of like looking at a LCD and OLED panel big difference.

@LiamW22 its up to 16 solder points, and one of them is barely larger than a small needle point. tools required. there are some places you can ship to, and they mod your console.

Yes, for free as well, just as long as either the official servers for your game of choice are up or there's an unofficial one you must adjust MTU to join. In both cases, you also need other players joined online of course. Battlefield, Call of Duty & Fat Princess are a few examples of games I've tried you can just join and find people on.

Xbox 360 was better in my opinion, but the original PlayStation 3 is the best looking console of ALL TIME. 2005-2012 was incredible for gaming

Going back to some of the ps3 catalog showed me that this generation whas the WORST in terms of performance, but by god it had absolute BANGER games. Shame Sony didnt do a backcompatibility thing like the xbox one with the ps4
