This seems like the most implausible thing ever. Honestly it seemed way more untrustworthy than the other videos, but it's the ONLY the thing that has worked for me. I didn't even tilt it 90 degrees, it was more like 45 degrees and it worked straightaway. Thank you sir and have a great day!!!!

I have the same problem but even vertical position didn't work for me, but I'm thankful, u sounded frustrated and I'm glad this fixes it for some people. The only trick that worked for me is tapping the top of the ps4 until the disc spins but still not all discs work, some will never work beside it's risky and might break something

Brilliant tip my friend! Another easy way is to use your hand to just give the top of the PS4 pro a few taps above the disk reader as you insert the disk. Works every time too!

Just happened to me. I was going to take it apart but most videos were about the disc not being taken by the guide arms. So I searched by disc read error instead, saw this vid, tried it out, and it fixed my issue. 2 years later this vid is still helping out. Its like how you had to flip the OG PlayStation on its head to play games.

Try this; put your ps4 or ps4pro sideways but also upside down so the playstation logo on top should be facing down. And the disk drive should be also down

@@jomarihart633 hey I have a fix that i to find out by myself and didnt see in any of these KZbin videos.... so if you take apart your ps4 so you get to the disk drive(there a couple tutorials on KZbin on how to do this safely and properly). So once you've taken it apart and you see the inside of the disk drive, you then need to locate the laser reader thing which looks like a little black box kind of which WOULD be underneath the disk if it was in the disk drive(should of said this earlier but make sure you dont have any disks in your ps4)so once you are certain you have found the little black box which has a laser reader attached to it,you want to lightly nudge it so that it is moving up and down just like all other laser readers are meant to do in disk drives. That's the best I can explain and what worked for me, I may not be the same issue for you but if you need me to make a short video on you tube explaining it with further detail and actually showing you what to do,i will happily make one for you just send a reply to this comment and I'll get to it!! Hope this helped!! :) ;)

Also saw another video where a young gentleman fixed the same problem with his PS4 by giving his console a few light whacks right above the disc reader area. Dude! This has been pissing me off for weeks and I just finished watching some 30 minute video to take apart the PS4 down to bare bones to change the drive...I feel your pain. Although I haven’t tried this, what worked for me was I smacked the top of my PS4 when I got mad after encountering this issue trying a few different games and it worked. Somehow tapping on the top while it’s trying to read was my magic fix. Do you know if there is any risk of flipping your PS4 back flat once you insert a disc on its side? I remember the Xbox 360 wrecking discs that way but seems to work okay for you. Thanks for the video glad I’m not the only one.
