Thanks for the video. I just used this method with a PS4 slim and mounted it behind my TV on the right side or opposite side the OP mounted his. A few things to consider. One, the string can be tricky to size, particularly the shorter length string. The shorter one has to be PERFECTLY TAUGHT as the PS4 slim doesn’t have much to grab onto at the tops. Two, if mounting a PS4 slim on the right with the disc drive on the bottom, the string (if thin) doesn’t block the disc drive but the string does lay right over both the power button and the disc eject button. It does not interfere with either but does require one to be more careful when pushing those buttons. Three, all of the vents are pretty clear as long as you don’t use thick string. Four, I added tiny sticky furniture pads on top of the screws to avoid scratching the PS4 and to add a little more room between the wall and the bottom of the PS4 slim. Kind of over kill but I did it because my screws had pretty fat heads. Just cautionary and I had them around already. I also added a few of them where the bottom of the console rests against the wall. Five, the PS4 should be angled slightly to provide a little more room on the bottom for increased ventilation. Keep in mind this isn’t a big deal as the bottom of the PS4 has less room when just sitting on a shelf or dresser or the like anyway. Six, larger washers are better and will help prevent the string from sliding out around the rounded edges of the PS4. Seven, I added tape over the top of the washers and screws and screwed down the screws to prevent the string from popping out from around the edges of the washers. Again, overkill, but I already had the items and it gave me a little more security. I also added tape on top of the string where it touches the sides of the console not blocking anything. All of my string is black and the tape is black as well so it blends in. Besides, it’s behind a large, flat screen TV so nobody will see it anyway. All in all, it’s secure, was free, and it works well. Hope that helps.

This also worked out for my PS4 Pro and since it has 2 indents unlike the regular PS4 the vents aren’t covered but for the top string I would add 2 inches more, I added only 1 and it was kind of tight for to reach the second indent, all in all looks good, works great and its free

Personally, I would have positioned the PS4 behind the TV to completely hide it from view. Btw 4:04, you should get a 90 degree USB extension cable so the the wire is tucked in nice and close o the console. :-)

@@locorocohui Hey mate, I just winged it. i did the lower sting first, took a guess really, then the top string I just wrapped it around while it was sitting in the lower string, the longer it is, the further away from the wall the ps4 will sit. little space is good i think so it doesnt over heat.

Probably possible, I have not tryed it. But before you do that, test it first make sure it works in that position. Measurements are in the video, and should be the same no matter which way you hand PS4, 40 inches, 27 inches and 18 inches for the controller. But I was using shoe laces and they are a little stretchy so go about half inch bigger if you are using thick string that is not stretchy and if using something thin just stick with original measurements. I hope this helps!

Yes. I did it with a PS4 Slim. Works well as long as the string isn’t too thick as the string will rest on the top of both the power and disc eject buttons and may block the disc drive if thick enough. The measurements are roughly the same BUT will vary slightly depending on how elastic the string is. I think the hardest part is getting the correct length on the string. I had to tie and untie mine several times to get it just right. Particularly the shorter length. That one has to be perfectly taught.

Yes , plugs will make it more secure. I didn’t use the plugs because I was thinking about making another mount ( video) and didn’t want big holes left in drywall. But never got around to making it and just left PS4 as is and it’s still hanging on the wall no problem.

I used very strong but also very thin string and the side vents are not blocked at all. No over heating issues whatsoever. Now if one uses thick shoe laces then they will have issues.

I assumed the same until I tried it and it does not block the vents at all unless the shoe string is really thick. I chose to use really strong but thin string. There is also a company that uses this same method and has sold thousands of these mounts with no issues. Their string is close to the thickness of his shoe laces used in this video. Be well.
