Quick tip for those who have the v1 and plastic buttons. Buy some small self-adhesive rubber buffers and put them under the paddles. So, you don't press the paddles to their limits. Should increase the durability.

I used metal tweezers for the whole entire thing and then when I went to plug the battery back in after everything was done I couldn’t get it in with my giant fingers so I used the tweezers and saw a spark….. I thought I bricked my controller because it wouldn’t turn on and it had a full charge… but all I did was plug it into the charger and everything worked fine after that thank God!!! Highly recommend these paddles though only took me about 40 minutes to install on my first time even with the battery scare lol.

They should've just use snap action switches like mouse switches and make the leverage point to press on them longer, like crisscross the switches from one side with the paddle from the opposite (farthest) side, that way they can get away with lighter switches (as usually snap action ones are - I believe that around 150 grams "green dot" it's among the heaviest ones) Also they should've used leaf springs to actuate the switches - this way they'd solve the paddles breaking issue and also prevent extra pressure being applied on the switches themselves.. (once the switch actuated / "snapped", the extra weight that can be applied to it by pressing harder on the paddle, even as it hits the back shell of the controller, it's just the spring's tension.. which is limited) These dreaded dome metal switches that everyone and their grandma seems to use anywhere and everywhere as they're cheap as chips are the worst kind of clicky switches that one can use in an electronic device.. (just to check the "clickiness box" - which regardless, is a.. hideous, unsatisfactory type of click.. empty, hard and dull.. ) seeing them used even under the D-Pad in the XBOX Elite controllers makes me.. sad..

Hey man, great video. I got the first kit a few days ago but I probably should've done more research beforehand. In your opinion is it worth upgrading to the newest kit? If you're looking for grip yeah I would recommend the rubberized grip shell. As for the kit. 2.0 has updated paddles but the metal ones are personally my favorite so far. The metal kit has switches that aren't as sensitive to press and the paddles are metal so more durability.
