If you own a ps5, and actually listened to Mark Cerny, then you will know how players are always divided when it comes to fidelity mode (locked 30fps) and performance mode (60fps), so now with the ps5 pro players will be able to enjoy enhance fidelity mode that targets up to 60fps. The side by side footage simply shows how ray tracing was also enhanced, it was not about having 4k resolution.

As mentioned, the $700 price point is just in US dollars. In other regions, buyers are looking at the Pro starting at around $800 USD. If someone wants a BluRay drive, that's an additional $100 USD. So, the final price is around $900, and in some regions, closer to $1000, after conversions to USD. The counter-argument is when you start approaching the $1K mark, people can build, or buy a prebuilt PC that can do a lot more, and deliver on the promise the presentation tried to skirt around: Native 4K, 60fps gaming as a baseline standard.

BTW, $700 is 635 euros with today's rates. So, the 799 euros advertised in yesterday's tech presentation doesn't make sense. Actually, in another article posted today locally in my (European) country, advertises PS5 Pro price at 650 euros (just a little bit more than 635 of the absolute rate conversion against US), which makes sense since our tax rates are higher than those of the US. It makes you wonder that 650 and 799 are so distant numbers that Sony probably listed the absolute max pricing that reflects some markets and that real figures will be lower. I'm shocked that the presentation didn't mention that the Pro has 2TB storage space. Honestly that makes it much more worthy of the price to me and no one is talking about it. To get an SSD for another TB costs around $100. So to include that with the graphical upgrades when the PS5 (w/only 825gb) is $500, that seems worth it to me. It does still need to come with a disc drive though.

Going straight digital and forcing people to buy the PS5 Pro Stand separately along with external disc drive separately - and still $700 for the console with less features?!? If they wanted to charge $700 it should have had BOTH the stand AND the disc drive included. As this video proves, there is next to no reason to buy this console right now - the existing games look great as is. They might as well have just called this PS6 and been done with it. Maybe they would have gotten some traction. But showing off PS4 games that still look great on PS4 that really don’t look or play any different - is it really worth the price right now? No.

Try to put together a pc for $700 that will play games at the same level of performance as the ps5 pro, with the same level of fast ssd storage, have the same length of support from developers, be able to play gta 6 on release, and have a hassle free experience without having to look at used pc parts to scramble together something even close. Oh and just a reminder that most GPUs by themselves are 300-600$+ in today’s market. But people are complaining about a $700 box that gives you everything you need to plug and play? Why do people keep saying the PS4 didn’t have HDR? The reason to upgrade to the PS4 Pro was for smoother/potentially higher frame rates, 4K, and a larger standard HDD. The standard PS4 already did HDR. HDR isn’t specific to 4K graphics. High to mid end LED TV’s were capable of displaying images enhanced with HDR.

Worst part is that they didn't even wait until something like GTA VI to give people a reason to have the "Best possible" gaming experience on release. Their biggest marketing time will have passed by the time a game comes out that could have changed the tides, and by then folks will have only known the PS5 Pro for its tiny pixel differences. Especially since the alternative, a normal PS5, is no longer out of supply.
