You get such an incredible gun at only about $600, mines been through 4 range sessions where i havent cleaned it yet and it still just chugs along. If you buy the PSA tank brake for it though your rifle might short stroke, mine certainly did.

@@jacksonsinclair2615 the bolt won't have enough gas to push back all the way and eject the round, so the spent round will slam back into the barrel and get stuck

@@spartank254 good to know. Glad I didnt throw the slant break away. Did you do any other custom work to work or aftermarket part thrown in? Sometimes that can have an effect.

@@jacksonsinclair2615 No, no custom work. Just keep the slant brake handy just in case it doesn't work for you. If it does then enjoy your brake!

I like the 5.7 pistols. I think it’s something I’d like to get in the future. The nice thing about the AK, is the price of ammo, at least for now. But it really depends on what you’re going for.

@@sonofaboomer yeah true. Does that ak eat up those steel cased tula ammo? Or have u shot many of those. Not sure on the ammo to get if I happen to pick one up. All i see is the shelves stock full of that tula

@@n0xxm3rcyxx haven’t used Tula specifically, but I have been shooting some other brands of Russian steel cased cheap ammo out of it, and haven’t had any issues. The gun has run fine so far with about 300 rounds through it.

I own a PSAK-47 GF5 that I have been running in 2 gun matches lately. I wish I could say flawlessly. The one I got started to light primer strike during a match and rendered it useless. The head spacing turned out to be out of spec and the firing pin had some weird crowning at the tip. Anyway, replaced the bolt and firing pin for under $100 and now it runs like a champ. It's a great rifle but the lack of QC control leaves us to roll the dice on our purchases. All in all, it's a great starter AK and if you've never shot one you are 100% missing out! So fun!

Agreed! Sorry that happened man! A lot of cheaper guns out there are great, but QC is always going to be worse the cheaper the gun is, and that leads to problems down the road. I’ve been pretty fortunate with most of my guns thus far, but I know a lot of people haven’t.

Best cheap upgrade: Aero Precision AK VG6 Epsilon, deletes muzzle rise, drastically improves follow up, and can be found on sale for $30. Only con I can think of is its fancy glock like finish, looks way better than AK finish.

Hey bro thanks for the video I just got this same exact rifle. I got it to use as a cheap short range hunting rifle. I’ve owned AKs since the 275 dollar WASR days and this thing seems pretty well built for what it is. Got the rifle, a couple PMags and 500 rounds of HP ammo for what a WASR costs. It’s crazy how expensive AKs are now. How’s yours holding up?

Mine is about to hit 1000 rounds and it’s running great! No jams or issues so far! I wish AK’s were still that cheap. Heck I wish any quality rifle was that cheap still haha! Thanks for the support. I hope your gun runs as well as mine has.

I heard from several people that the Zastava M70 is much better than what PSA has to offer.

I’ve heard good things about the Zastavas as well. You’ll pay a few hundred more but you’ll probably get a decent boost in quality. Still the PSA isn’t bad by any means in my experience. I’ve got over 1000 rounds so far with no issues beyond the first mag.

This G5 is awesome plus the lifetime warranty , I mean that’s hard to beat. Nobody ever likes sending their guns in but if needed it’s good to know that’s an option

That's an AKM.

Yes it is! Palmetto state armory’s designation for it is the PSAK-47.

I’m not overly familiar with AK’s. Mine seems to run fine however. I know some people claim a lot of AK’s are a bit over gassed to increase reliability. The recoil for my gun isn’t bad at all though and I don’t believe mine is.

AKs are supposed to be overgassed. It’s one reason they are known to be so reliable
