Psalm 70 describes how God's help comes quickly to David, who prays against his adversaries, but ends up praising God. Here is a link to David Guzik's commentary on Psalm 70: enduringword.com/bible-commen...

Thank you for the teaching on Psalm 70. It helps me understand that man can approach God in such a simple and straight forward manner. It is like a child asking his father for help against his 'adversary' so that he finds some peace.

Hello brother, I will contribute to this sermon, I learned a lot from you in all the sermons so far. David placed himself in dependence on God to save his own life, Jesus to save the lives of others (Mt 26.39)

Starting with asking for God's help because of his enemies, the circumstances he's in. Ending with asking for God's help because of himself, his inadequacy, his sin. BUT in the middle, at the heart, he is praising God. In the middle of his need of circumstances and himself he praises and magnifies God. In the middle of myself, my need and my external circumstances, I say may GOD BE PRAISED. At the heart of my life and being may God be praised. Thanks David again for pointing us to share in praise to God the father and Jesus our saviour. May God be exalted today.

Thank you dear Mr Guzik, I am learning to incorporate psalms in my daily prayers and what a wonderful way to start with psalm 70, I am a needy and poor in lives of my children. They are good kids but not godly. Nevertheless I will do as David did, I will still magnify the Lord, He makes ways where there seems to be no way. Thank you so much for your insightful explanation, very helpful. Thus I subscribe for more of this. Cling on!

2 more ways point to Jesus in Psalm 70, 4th. Verse 4, "...love God's salvation." Jesus is God's salvation. 5th. Verse 5, "make haste... not delay" Revelation 20 verse 20 "...yes, I am coming quickly..." Jesus is the one who will come in haste and not delay. Thank you for the enduring word.
