I have 2 controllers that I got back in April 2021. Had a 2yr warranty on both from Gamestop. Red one started drifting after 2 years (it is my main, and it's not noticeable) my white one is pristine. My red one only drifts because I have used it almost every day for multiple hours since April 2021.

I do prefer ps5 for a couple of reasons, like less glitches, somehow faster loading times and psvr2. Until game developers actually focus on delivering better quality games, the extra power won't mean anything. There may have been games that had performance modes but due to the weak cpu jn the ps4 pro it seldom ever hit anything above 45 fps, but I do recall times where the base ps4 did outperform the pro in some games when it comes to 30 fps targets.

Depends if they meaningfully power up the CPU too. Can have double the GPU power but if the CPU barely improves it won't have the capability to reach 120 or 144fps will just get higher resolution and some more flashy settings still at 30 to 60fps.

My work is in Deep Teach Strategy projects. All I can is that where Sony is heading does not look bright. It is quiet similar to how they lost the TV market, when the competitors embraced Smart TV & LED screens. For Sony, they are doubling down on Hardware while the competitors even Nvidia has entered Cloud Gaming with price tags that are cheaper, better in quality, and providing a "Netflix" type of gaming experience rather than paying 80$ for a game that falls flat in quality. I doubt PS6 or Next Xbox ever come, or if they do, they will target regions with low internet speed which can not access cloud services.

Too many people believe the PS5 hasn’t been tapped yet, it has. It’s only 10 teraflops compute power good enough for 1080-1440p without upscaling. The PS5 pro at 33 teraflops will even be more of a 1440p machine but with more visual candy on. There is no hidden untapped power in the ps5 it’s just not that powerful. It’s a fantastic machine for the price.

I love my ps5 playing on a ps4 feels horrible. I would say the ps5 has limits and it shows when using in fidelity mode. I always put it in performance mode so I get smooth frame rates rather than better visuals. Hopefully the ps5 pro will handle both, if not I’ll wait for a ps6
