It's been a year since the PlayStation VR2 launched, and despite the excitement and high expectations, it hasn't quite lived up to the hype. In this comprehensive review, we explore why the PSVR2 remains a disappointment one year after its release in a “one year later” style product review.
Unfulfilled Promises: Sony's ambitious promises for the PSVR2 painted a picture of a groundbreaking VR experience. However, many of these promises have fallen flat. We delve into the features that were touted but never materialized, leaving early adopters frustrated.
Limited Game Library: One of the critical factors for any gaming system's success is its library of games. Unfortunately, the PSVR2's game selection remains sparse and lacks the compelling, exclusive titles needed to draw in a wider audience. We'll examine the impact of this limited library on the overall VR experience and compare it to other VR platforms.
Price vs. Value: With a hefty price tag, the PSVR2 is a significant investment for gamers. We break down the cost and evaluate whether the system offers enough value for its price. How does it compare to other VR systems on the market in terms of performance, features, and overall value?
Future Prospects: What does the future hold for the PSVR2? Can Sony turn things around with firmware updates, new game releases, or even a hardware revision? We speculate on the potential paths forward and what Sony needs to do to redeem the PSVR2 in the eyes of gamers.
Join us as we take an in-depth look at the PSVR2's journey over the past year, analyzing what went wrong and what needs to change for it to become a must-have VR system. Don't forget to like, comment, and subscribe for more detailed reviews and insightful discussions on the latest in gaming technology! (or other stuff that we are more likely to make)

I feel the same. It's an amazing system... for me. Getting one really made me realize all the different barriers that will stop VR from catching for at another 5-10 years or so. Still, it is an incredibly fun an unique way to game.

Very informative and reasonable opinions. I was looking into getting one for myself and my nephew.

If you can find it at the right price, I definitely recommend it. Also, if you have PC that can run VR reasonably well, its an even better deal!

This hasn't aged well since the release of the pc adapter

I mean I talked about the adapter in the video. I think it still proves to be a disappointment. Almost like Sony was like, well we might as well open it up because we don’t feel like putting effort into it anymore

I hate the narrative that its somehows sony's fault it flopped. VR is flopping period does not matter who made it. VR needs software in order to keep devs fed. If no one buys the games how the hell you expect vr to survive? A game cant even sell 1000 copies. It's that bad.

First off, thank you for the comment. But I don’t think you should absolve Sony of all guilt either. If you are going to put out a piece of hardware and charge as much as they did for it, I think you have some kind of obligation to support it with software. That’s like Apple putting out the original App Store but not putting out high quality apps. Or even Sony putting out a console like the PlayStation (especially back in the day before the video game market was as lucrative as it is today) and putting none of their own software out, and just expecting it to succeed. I’m not absolving Valve, Meta, or any of the other VR companies, but this is a PSVR2 video. And Sony could have put more of an effort in producing good software and getting more people interested.

Don’t loose faith. I think the future of this device looks good now that Jim Ryan is gone. He built up ALOT of walls around the PlayStation brand, and absolutley crippled it’s advertising. You can already tell the new leadership is looking to change this.

I hope so! i really do think they made a great piece of hardware and I hope they can put some more focus into it to really up the value

Ironically it looks like Jim Ryan was the only one in favour of supporting VR. Since he left they’ve closed studios. Apparently halted production. Cancelled games. And rumours persist Sony are done with supporting it any further than potentially 2 more first party games. Trying to ‘support it’ by pushing it on to PC players…and they even did that least amount of effort required. All upcoming exclusives we have coming via 3rd party we’re probably deals done during Jim Ryan Whoops

I find it painful how high quality content like this video has so few comments and views. If this reflects the state of PSVR2, it's really sad.
