Sweet Tooth was a lot creepier in this game, IMO. I like how he’s more “human”, rather than some buffed-up hell spawn with a flaming head.

I didn't play this until after playing 2, 3, 4, and Small Brawl. At first, it felt clunky, but this original installment grew on me and I far prefer it to the goofy 3rd and 4th games. I love the gritty, hard boiled feel of it. UPDATE: this and 2 are coming to PS4/5 in just 5 days!!!! I can't WAIT!!

In hindsight, it's just kinda lame but it had some good ideas. 4 had awesome new weapons and the level designs really stole the show. I loved the bedroom and carnival levels. So many secrets and goodies.

Lots of nostalgia with this gem. I still prefer 2 and Black over this, but I had a lot of fun playing this as a kid, and I still have a blast playing it today. My favorite vehicles were Yellow Jacket, Spectre, Warthog and Crimson Fury.

I was 15 years old and my 2 twin younger brothers 13 opened up our 32nd and final Xmas gift and it was in a huge box to throw us off and think it was something else and as we unwrapped the huge box their was a smaller box in it and as we unwrapped the smaller box all we saw was the playstation logo and we went crazy,then my parents said marry Xmas guy and that was it.... That was until 30 mins later they said boys come here I see something inside the Xmas tree, they said to see what that is and when we moved the garland and tinsel there was a wrapped gift in a box, as we opened it, we couldn't believe it was twisted metal!! We had the best Xmas in the world but the Xmas of "96" was the chart topper!! Me and my 2 brothers had the best parents ever!!!!

These early SingleTrac games were awesome. I loved this game, Twisted Metal 2, and WarHawk. I was immensely disappointed when Sony chose to use a different studio to develop Twisted Metal 3.

SolidSnake True, and some of them had different outcomes than the text endings. But in the end, they were removed because a SingleTrac employee was offended by the violence and women in bikinis surrounding Calypso and they didn't want to face Sony if said offended informed them, but in The Dark Past, Jaffe stated that the ending being cut was a good thing because he thinks Twisted Metal would not succeed if they were left in.

Crimson Fury and Road Kill (in this game, in 2 its not as good) are my favourites. And i love the reference to Cabbie from Escape frome New York, with Yellow Jacket and his special attack.

It is cool to watch this video, when I was a kid, my disc on ps1 would load the first level just fine, I think it was 50/50 if it would load the second level, and third level was like >1% of the time, so the game past level 2 was always such a mystery to me lol. One of my favorite classics though!

i found just about the only way you could beat it in one sitting; you had to wait till you had one enemy left in the second and third levels, and then load up on the homing missiles which would generate every five minutes. then you would unload them in the fourth level almost immediately, play through that level, die. load up on the homers in four, use them up in five, die, load up again, and try to beat the final boss with your last life. TM2 i dont know if i could beat in one sitting but it was even more difficult
