That’s what I get for rushing this out after a late NYE party 🎊

hey good video you've made. could you also follow up by making a video where you show how to update the firmware on it and possibly show what types of sd cards it can max take and possibly which brands it eats (kingston ex)

I actually already recorded a firmware update video it just not edited yet, as for SD card testing I don't have to many to test unfortunately

perfect. I have ordered one myself, it is on its way in the mail. but I have 2 sd cards lying around that I will try to see if it will accept them. 1 512gb lenovo and 1 nintendo switch card 128gb (sandisk)

did I understand correctly? can we run copies of PSX games on playstation 2 directly from this card?
@LazyProductReviews4 күн бұрын
This product is for save game management and virtual memory cards. You can not use this product to launch games of the SD card.

I got one. But is different from my Free McBoot memory card. The Bitfunx doesn't doesn't display HDLoader option.. why?
@LazyProductReviewsКүн бұрын
I don't think it ships with HDLoader, you would need to install it on the PSXMemcard. Make a back up of the original memory card image before making changes.

I think it also supports booting games like mx4sio. It really is the last memory card you'll ever need.
@LazyProductReviews4 күн бұрын
I don't think that's a feature of this card. It's a virtual memory card solution.
@Enzed_4 күн бұрын
@@LazyProductReviews it was an update to sd2psx which is what this memcard is based on. It should be able to do the same thing.
@davidoli4 күн бұрын
@@Enzed_ You're mistaking it for the sd2sio which is the same as the mx4sio. You can't load games from this memory card and I don't think that will be possible in the future
@Enzed_4 күн бұрын
@@davidoli no, it actually works using mmce protocol. It's a very recent update to sd2psx.

When using autoboot mode, if I press the start+select+R1+R2+L1+L2 button to end a game, it should reset and enter fmcb mode, but it does not. Is there any way to solve this?
@LazyProductReviews22 сағат бұрын
Hey it is a limitation of how the memory card auto switching works. Basically when the system starts it autoboots to the boot memcard. However when you load a game it switches to the virtual memory card for that game. A soft rebooot does not trigger the memcard to switch. I do not have a solution perhaps reach out to the project github github.com/sd2psxtd
@jennyjan-t2u11 сағат бұрын
@@LazyProductReviews Thank you for your reply. Soft reboot is a feature I use often. As a solution to this, I am using a separate FMCB memory in slot 2.

just an idiot question here. how did you get ps1 games running on your ps2.... been searching for the and the best option i found that doesnt seem to work is via OPL :S. doe you have or know of a good howto on how to do this ?
@LazyProductReviews9 күн бұрын
Ah, good question! Unfortunately, PS1 games cannot be loaded via OPL. Fun fact: the PS1 CPU is repurposed as the I/O processor in PS2 mode it handles tasks like hard drive control, which is why it can't be used to play PS1 games. The PS1 game I'm running is a retail copy, but it's actually Japanese. I really lucked out with this PS2 - I rescued it from the trash, and it had already been mod-chipped by its previous owner. This mod allows my PS2 to play PS1 games from any region. If you're curious, here's a video about how I discovered this PS2: kzbin.info/www/bejne/ioGqoJqHl9doatk
@monchopr35112 күн бұрын
You'll need and older version of OPL and need to convert the PS1 games to VCD format. This is because of the way the hardware of the PS2 is designed to play PS1 games.

You can boot games from the memory card?
@LazyProductReviews2 күн бұрын
No, Not directly from the memory card
@firstlast96999 күн бұрын
If you launch a game in OPL and then do the in game reset it goes to the browser as normal. But then you back out of the browser it does not relaunch freemcboot. You have to power cycle the ps2 for it to relaunch freemcboot. Is there a setting to fix this?
@LazyProductReviews9 күн бұрын
That's something I haven't tried myself. Thanks for sharing. I'll look into and see if I find any solutions.
@LazyProductReviews9 күн бұрын
@firstlast9699 I have attempted a firmware upgrade no luck. The only way to get a soft reboot to work with free mcboot that I can tell is to disable the game id function. It may be a limitation of the PS2 hardware... I am unsure. I could flick them an email and ask. Another option would be to get a PS2 IR remote to do an actual shutdown and restart of the system.
@LazyProductReviews9 күн бұрын
I have sent an email to bitfunx support and see what they say... but I think it might be a hardware limitation perhaps.
@firstlast96999 күн бұрын
Thanks for trying to figure it out appreciate it. I’ll just use it as an unlimited memory card and disable the auto boot until they do a firmware update higher than beta8.
@firstlast96999 күн бұрын
I believe it might be software because a traditional memory card with freemcboot can perform a soft reboot with no issue. It seems that the psxmemcard is keeping the last game save when rebooting and not switching to the boot1.mc
